Pours a straw color. 5/4 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of wheat, strong pale malt, hint of sweet malt, Euro yeast, and a hint of hops. Fits the style of a German Pilsner. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong pale malt, strong Euro yeast, hint of hops, hint of wheat, and a hint of sweet malt. Overall, a pretty standard pils.

Appearance: Good foam. Typical straw yellow in color. Crisp bubbles.

Smell: More typical pilsner notes. Musty, German hops.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Similar to smell; lots of musty German hops. Heavier on the malt versus the hops. I definitely would have like a better balance. Mouthfeel has excellent bite and definitely a hoppy spritzy-ness.

Overall Drinkability: Pretty middle of the road pilsner, especially for a European one.

Pours out a white head with a beautiful golden colour. Not much nose but that seems alright to me. In the mouth there is a taste of malt and an aftertaste of hops that lasts after it goes down. I like that - its nice to be reminded you just had a swallow of a decent beer. I love that aftertaste. Krombacher Pils is one of those beers that one needs to come back to after trying different brews - it brings you back to basics!

Had on tap at the Publican in Chicago. Pours brilliant straw gold under a 1” white foam cap. Malty with a spicy hop nose. Light malts lead the attack with a spicy bitter hop finish. Creamy, clean and crisp with medium light gody and medium high carbonation. A good but not great German Pilsener.
