A relative newcomer to the City of Bradford, it is yet still no surprise to see an outlet from the national chain of J.D. Wetherspoons, it was only a matter of time I suppose as they now boast at least one outlet in every major City and Town in the UK.

What I do like about the Wetherspoons chain is the fact that at least they do not produce a cookie-cutter of indenti-kit Pubs, for each one in exhaustively researched, and everyone has strong local influences in its décor.

As the Postal Address suggests, the building was an old Public Baths that has cleverly been converted into a Public House and named after a prominent local employer from the 1800’s that did a lot to promote good working practices for his employees, Sir Titus Salt.

The STS, always has a decent range of beers, with its selection of Regulars including the ubiquitous Boddingtons (uurgh), the excellent Shepherd Neame Spitfire, the ever dependable Timothy Taylor’s Landlord and Theakstons Best Bitter. It also had four Guest Beers on sale during my last visit, including the superb Roosters Yankee. My only niggle is that the beer can be served a little too cold at times. It also sells a Real Cider, Weston’s Old Rosie, which is excellent and represents good value for the genuine article. Recently gained the Cask Marque accreditation and has a decent sized No-Smoking area.

Lunchtime and Evenings meals are from the usual Menu, found throughout most of the Wetherspoons chain. No surprises, just a dependable list of the old favorites that are served quickly and relatively inexpensive.

A large expansive interior that has its fair share of Students whenever there is a drink promotion. Throughout the day it also has its fair share of Visitors from the nearby National Museum of Film & Photography as well as local Workers; whilst on an evening local Clubgoers and punters at the nearby Alhambra Theatre pack the place. Sometimes shows live Premiership Football on a large Screen. You can drink outside, but it is a very small area that is often full on hot days.

A good place to grab a few beers, and a quick meal; both always represent excellent value and rarely disappoint. In the process of applying for a Children’s Certificate.
