Picked this up recently at Peterson's Wines Unlimited in Westfield, I enjoyed their Tropical Milkshake when it was released late last year and this was on par with it with the end result being a sweet, creamy, and utterly enjoyable juice bomb that didn't feel anywhere near as strong as it's listed ABV!
Hazy and golden like any good New England IPA should be, this had a uniform cloudiness to it that (of course) looked like freshly-squeezed fruit juice. Lots of full head topped this off although the lacing left behind was nowhere to be seen aside from a thin semblance of a ring near the top of my pint glass. Loads of guava, cream, vanilla, and tropical fruit were in the nose as the taste burst forth with oats, mango, dank hops, and dew as this was lush, varied, and just sweet enough to round the heavier edges off. Plenty sticky and dry-hopped, this was wonderfully complex as everything meshed well together, which ensured that it would go down easily to the last drop.
The carbonation was present, but subtle, as the same could be said for the alcohol. Dated 6/21 on the bottom of the can with "ISLAND VIBES", this was nearly good enough to take me away to somewhere halfway around the world although I'd much rather be here sipping on this on a late summer's night. Just like the label, this was artsy and colorful with the end result being a take on this style that was pure fun and enjoyment. Indeed, this was bliss in a can!
