Lucent bright gold with pastel yellow accents, capped by an impressive looking head of bright white foam that is full of character. It's firm and tacky at once, shows off a craggy mesa as it deflates and leaves fat, meandering strands of bubbly lace.

The nose is hoppier than most with a sweet, rounded, soft pungency that just has to be coming from Saaz. It's floral in the best sense of the word and is a pleasure to sniff.

O.K. is definitely one of the better versions of this oft-maligned style, but it still runs up against my glass ceiling of likeability. I'm only capable of getting so much enjoyment out of an EPL after all. Granted, this beer comes pretty close to making me reconsider that sentiment.

Although the flavor isn't quite as hoppy as the nose, hops are still clearly running the show. The bitterness has a sharper, more pointed character than I generally prefer, but it's nothing too severe. There's a fair amount of citrusiness (bitter lemon zest), although more would be welcome. The mouthfeel is medium for the style with a stealth slickness accompanied by an under the radar amount of carbonation.

In the end, O.K. Beer is okay beer. It's a big fish when judged against its peers, but not when forced to swim in the larger ocean of craft beer. I understand that the O.K. of its name is based on the name of the brewery, but it does convey a certain lack of self assurance and may be something of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Or I could be spouting a bunch of absolute nonsense (the most likely theory, I'm afraid). Better though to call your beer 'Abso-fu**in'-lutely Fantastic Beer' and take your chances, no?

16.9 oz can was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: This beer poured a one finger head that reduced quickly to a thin layer. It is a golden straw yellow clear as day with bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: Sweet pale and bready malts followed by mild noble hops. Smells standard for an EPL.

Taste: Same as above. Very tasty lager.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, drinkable, medium bodied, mild tingly bitterness, and medium carbonation.

Overall: Not an expert in this style, but this is a good beer on hot humid day like today.

Poured from a 500ml can into an imperial pint glass...

A: Pours a completely translucent perfect shade of gold. There is about one full finger of pure white head that settles quickly. All that is left is a thin bubbly ring along the edges of the glass. There is no lacing as it drinks.

S: The nose is really thin. I'm not getting a whole lot. There is slight malt, and slight hop aromas, but mainly just smells a bit stinky. Like mild skunk.

T: It's sweet to start, sweet in the middle with some effervescent carbonation, and sweet in the finish. There is a mild bite in the back end, but nothing that could be considered even close to hoppy. Some sweetness lingers on the palate after it's moved off the palate.

M: Light bodied beer. This is an easy drinker for sure. Super light, pleasantly sweet, and thin.

O: This is a solid example of lager. It's a step or two up from a Bud of Bug Light, that's for sure. It's nothing spectacular, but what can you really expect from the style. It's drinkable and enjoyable... if you're in the mood.

Pours a clear yellow with a 2 inch foamy white head that fades to a think film on the top of the beer. Broken rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of fresh grains, grass/hay notes, and some sweetness. Taste is of grains, grass, and some sweet honey-like flavors on the finish. Mild bitterness on the palate after each sip. A good level of carbonation with a crisp and clean mouthfeel on this one. Overall, this is a pretty good lager out of Poland. I need to seek out the Baltic porter from this brewery as well.

The bottom of the can says: "24.12.17 LPLO3M/364"

Appearance: The beer has brilliant clarity. It has a beautiful gold body that shimmers as light passes through. The head is medium-sized, white, and a bit fluffy. It has very good head retention. The beer looks like it belongs in a magazine.

Aroma: There is a nice light herbal hop aroma and a touch of buttered caramel.

Taste: It has a light bit of herbal flavor with just a very light hint of mint in the aftertaste. The beer has a sweetness that tends to dominate the hops a bit. It is a bit like a mix of caramel sweetness and cereal grain but stronger towards the caramel. There is a bit of alcohol flavor that pops in from time to time.

Mouthfeel: The beer has a light body and it is pretty drinkable depending on the drinkers tolerance to sweeter beers. It has very low bitterness with just a light bitter mint at the end.

Overall: It's a pretty average beer that feels a bit unbalanced, favoring a sweet malt flavor that eclipses any hops that might or might not be present in the beer. It isn't a beer I would recommend on merit but it is drinkable and it has flavor.

500 mL bottle into a weizen glass (my only clean .5 L glass at the moment), OK Beer!

Pours a little darker than the Piwo Jasne Pełne (Full pale beer) would have me believe, a nice, rich golden color; completely clear. Forms a two finger head from a normal pour and has nice carbonation, some lacing.

Smells nice and sweet, malts with a touch of ripe, red apples.

Taste is bready and sweet at first, then a touch of yeastiness kicks and and makes it a bit chalky with the hint of apple. Finishes with a very subtle hop note that is a bit tea like and has a spice that mingles with the carb.

Light and fairly neutral, very refreshing.

A mighty fine lager, props to my friends and possible ancestors in Poland for this one! This is definitely an "OK Beer", perfect for a hot summer and might even compete with my favorite lager - Weihenstephaner.

500 ml bottle into lager glass, best before 3/9/2016. Pours crystal clear golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Awesome appearance. Aromas of cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of bready malt and moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, biscuit, light honey, light pepper, and herbal/floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness as well. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly grainy/creamy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good pale lager style. All around good robustness and balance of bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Had this from a can a a friend's. I should start by saying that I do not usually like lagers - I find the "subtle" flavors virtually nonexistent in most cases.

But OK Beer lived up to it's name. Nice head that subsided quickly, with decent lacing. The beer is nice and clear in the glass, with a warm straw hue.

The aroma was restrained but suggested the flavor nicely. There's no biscuity nonsense going on here - a bit of bread balanced nicely by refreshing hops. There's flavor here, but not enough to make you interrupt your session to ponder the beer.

I would drunk this instead of water, and I can't say that of many lagers. It was OK.

Poured from can into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours pale golden color with a big billowy white head. The head has a good level of retention, fading over time to leave a moderate sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest of a sweet and bready smell with the sweet being mainly a mix of a caramel and corn aroma. Along with these smells comes some lighter notes of yeast and grass.

Taste – The taste begins with a rather light bready taste mixed with a moderate sum of a corn syrupy sweet flavor. As the taste advances, more and more corn flavors come to the tongue with a little bit of a grassy and papery flavor working their way in as well. These flavors take the taste to its end where they leave a somewhat unpleasant mix of flavors to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather thin with a carbonation level that is rather high. For the somewhat off flavors this is probably the best feel for the brew as it minimizes that flavors the best it can.

Overall- Not the greatest beer out there that is for sure. Pretty much a subpar malt in my opinion, with much better malts out there. I wouldn’t recommend this one.

Had this beauty at World of Beer in Tampa Palms.
This beauty pours a golden and translucent, lot of carbonation and a white lacey head. The aroma is of hops and and sweet malts nothing complex. Great taste, I was not expecting much from this beer but this beer is crisp giving some nice malty flavors off the front and sharp hops at the end. This beer is light but not watery, and the flavor lingers and is not overpowering. Great brew.

Light amber in color with a medium-size head that doesn't stay on for long. Aroma of rye bread and buckwheat honey.

Very "rustic" taste - this is a much different beer from refined, clean Czech lagers - yet, it is strangely appealing. I can feel being transported to a simple, rural place with rolling hills and meadows full of wildflowers when drinking Okocim. One distinct note is that of buckwheat - buckwheat honey, buckwheat flowers, buckwheat grain.

Overall, it's an interesting beer that calls for a simple, Eastern European dish to accompany it - bigos, rye bread with bacon and onion, smoked kielbasa with potatoes and sauerkraut, etc. It drinks well and is different from more well-known Czech and German lagers.
