Picked this up at the Hauenstein Chestnut Market. Crystal clear straw yellow pour with a quickly fading one finger foamy white head. The nose is quite nice with hints of caramel, grain, nuts, and subtle honey. The taste is nutty, earthy, and buttery with hints of caramel, honey, and brown sugar. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation and a slightly sweet, dry finish. Overall, I picked this up thinking it was going to be gimmicky. But while it wasn't all that complex, it was much more flavorful than I had expected and very drinkable.

good news is, Swiss brewers, long time loyal to a 'blue collar lager' - 'premium lager' style business strategy, are now trying to fit the various tastes of potential beer lovers ....
bad news is, that 'cloning' special brews rarely works ...
the nose of this brew is all but pleasant, foul red meat would come to my mind ....
taste itself is better, but the chestnuts are not embedded in the brew, it's a bit like an ordinary lager with some chestnut-dumplings in it ....
if you're looking for a chestnut flavored beer, Piera from Corsica would be a way better choice than this brew

This beer is a light golden color with a thin and fizzy white head that disappears rather fast. Minimal coating of lacing on the glass. The aroma is musty hops and some nuts. Light-bodied and a little skunky, with hoppy and nutty flavors. The finish is sweet malt with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Aside from the Heineken-ish aspects this beer is alright.

This is a beer made with chestnuts, a popular snack in this part of the world (Switzerland). It is golden in color with a bright white head. Light hop aroma, not much though. It has a creamy texture, maybe a medium body starting with some malty flavors finishing slightly nutty. Interesting for the unusual ingredient but could use more character.
