From the bottle, it pours golden amber in color with a moderate head. The head lasts a bit. Some bread in the nose, followed by a nicely flavored slightly malty beer with a touch of Pilsener bitterness. Yum!

Turkey's only selection in the "1001."
To me, clearly was on the German side of the Pils family; malty, modest use of hops picked up by my nose. Delivered the same taste.
Otherwise, not memorable.

Pours clear, light gold in color with 1/4 inch head and moderate carbonation. Taste is sweet grain, sugar, and light grass. Tasty and refreshing. Above average for the style. One I would pick up again.

A: crystal clear; pale gold in color; 1+ finger moussy white head that receded to a splotchy cap very nice lacing;

S: mostly DMS - smelled it as soon as I popped the cap;

T: grainy; pilsner malt; lightly bitter finish;

M: medium bodied; highly carbonated; crisp;

O: might have been good if not for the aroma; as it was, to get a fair taste score, I had to hold my nose;

A very dry and light pilsner. Had a solid not overpowered taste of hops. The body was clear and golden and the smell had a hint of bread, nuts, and grain. The taste matches the aroma, with a very short period before disappearing. The head was thin, but visible and covered the entire beer before dissipating. Very subtle (yet tasty) and refreshing beer, especially for a casual night.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden with tall, fluffy, white head and soda-like carbonation. Aroma is of fresh bread and some grassy hops. Body is medium and crisp. Taste is similar to aroma. Finish is short and dry. Inoffensive macro brew.

This beer has some very nice qualities. It was poured from the bottle into a frosted mug. Nice head with excellent curtain lacing that matched a silky smooth mouth feel. Honey taste that was light and crisp. Surprisingly, it is served at a local downtown pizzeria. This beer goes very well with supreme pizza!

Very refreshing, smooth turkish pilsener. This brew has a light golden color and a thick, white head. I tasted a pleasant citrus aroma with some hints of honey mixed with a nice grassy, floral hop bitterness. Amazing to drink on hot summer days or to wash down some Kebap or other turkish delights. One of the best european pilseners and the best turkish beer. I absolutely recommend this brew!

Golden transparent body with a thick, white head. Aromas of grain, adjuncts. Uneventful and bland. Light bodied and meh.

Bottle. Pours a clear, bright yellow with a tall, hollow, white head. Yikes, that's a skunky Lager. Defunct noble hops, lager yeast, grain and skunk. Flavor is all that the nose insinuates. Really, really skunky. Light bodied and watery. Not very good.

Pale gold pour with thick white head; good clarity. Smells like a Miller Lite. Lite floral hop taste but not much otherwise. Crisp, cold and watery. Overall, easy to drink lightly flavored beer.

A decent light bodied Pilsner. Decent malty sweet and fruity aromas. Sweet fruity taste with a hint of lemon finish and mild hop kick. Very drinkable. Nothing special but passable.

Purchased at the LCBO for just under that magical $3.00 for a 500ml can. Served at 5deg C in a draught glass

A- Opens well and pours a tiny head that is one in 30sec. Nearly colorless- extremely light gold. Clear

S- Metallic

T- Metallic. Slight bready flavor to it. Yeasty. Bitterish

M- Creamy but dry aftertaste.

O- Not so good. Will not buy again

Food Pairing

This ok brew went ok with..... Potato chips. Wasn't interested in cooking something to pair it

Enjoy

Can: Poured a light yellow color pils with a medium white foamy head with light retention and light lacing. Aroma of light sweet adjunct notes is pretty bland. Taste is also dominated by sweet adjunct notes with limited character. Body is light with good carbonation. Just another bland adjunct based pils.

*The bottle of Efes I had said "Best before 01/03/13", so I don't know if that had something to do with my unpleasant experience I had with the beer.*

A- This thing looks like it has sea monkeys floating around in it! Not cool. It has a dark, gold, appearance with an OK looking head that died down to nothing. The "paticulates" floating about in the beer was not appealing at all.

S- Mineral like. Maybe that's from the water they use in the beer. Caramel sweetness. Grains. Rice. Cooked veggies. Smells like a Budweiser from a green bottle. That mineral scent is real off-putting.

T- Taste is horrible! It's got such a minerally, dirty water taste. It's got a syrupy kind of sweetness (but not overly sweet), rice & cooked veggie flavor, with a good bit of graininess. The finish is what really makes this beer taste so offal. It finishes harsh and minerally. I don't know how to describe that off flavor other than minerally. It just taste like the water came from a well and has nasty stuff in it that wasn't filtered out very well in the brewing process. The only remotely redeeming quality to the beer was this caramel kind of malt thing going on. But the finish is so harsh and nasty that it supersedes anything else going on.

M- It's a light to medium bodied pilsner beer. Just like with the taste, there is some kind of syrupy quality that is probably not supposed to be there that isn't creating a pleasant mouthfeel.

*I don't know if this beer being a little over 2 years past the "Best By" date has had any affect on the beer itself, but I wouldn't buy this beer ever again. I think Carlsberg and Heinkein have this beer beat hands down in flavor and drinkability. If for some crazy reason I decide to buy Efes Pilsner again, it would be to see how a fresher bottle tastes. But this stuff is on the verge of being gross.

With the dozens of supposedly European beers around, Efes stays one of the best imported beers, with a soft feel on an amazing taste and alcohol content.

Endured across my honeymoon in Turkey. Did not like, was not impressed. Tried repeatedly, and found myself questioning my order each time--oftentimes the only beer on the menu, so what are you going to do? Better than raki, but that's saying very little. Too sweet, too yeasty, no body, no smell . . . the best thing I can say is that it poured a nice light golden color, and had a foamy head.

In bottle. Have nothing against beers that has a rich taste of yeast, unless there are other flavors in the beer, which this Turk is obviously lacking. Smells nice, but the taste is not as good as the aroma.

pours a clear gold color and shows very little head. The aroma is very light and maybe getting a touch of hops?. the flavor is malty and there is a carbonated fizziness that shines through. Overall, a decent beer but lacks a little more boldness in the flavor. Not bad for a Turkish beer !!

Pours crystal clear pale golden with a pure white head with decent retention and lace.
Smell: not a lot there, earthy and some faint citrus fruit.
Taste: Clean, crisp, refreshing, a touch of honey.
Pilsners are pretty simple beers and this one is good but not a lot to separate it from other
mundane Pilsners except its $10.00 a six pack price tag.

From a short and fat brown bottle, some drank from, most poured into a nucleated pint glass. Bottle hand-imported by a friend of mine direct from the source, Turkey.

Appearance - Golden and completely clear throughout. No head to speak of. Just perfect for this style.

Smell - Nothing much on the nose. Sweet malt, not too much hop aroma.

Taste - A lot of malt for how light it is, something I was craving at the time. Not really any hops to speak of, but it has been aging in my fridge door for about a year. A cigar previous to this is tainting the whole taste. Very good, light and refreshing.

Mouthfeel - Almost purely water feel with only a slight carbonation. This is evident by the small, quiet bubbles coming from the nucleation.

Overall - I think a wonderful example of the style of beer. Top class and glad I have another bottle.

The appearance is very good on this beer. Streaming carbonation and very good lacing and head retention.

The aroma is sweet and has notes of herbal hops, mineral water and sugar.

The taste is sweer with a slight bitter finish. One can tell it is attempting to emulate a good German pilsener. The taste is a little light with no off notes but nothing outstandingly pleasing either.

Mouthfeel is of mineral water,

Overall this beer is a lesser version of a German pilsner. They've added rice and made the flavour a little more bland. It is, however, an ok tasting beer and would suffice as a session beer with more quality than many European macro lagers. Better than Stella, Heineken etc.

My mark out of one hundred would be 75.

.5L can into craft pint

A- Light gold, and clear. White head looks good after pour, but doesn't retain well.

S- Sweet malt, a bit of honey. Not much hop aroma.

T- Malt forward, sweet bread. Slight hop snap to balance.

M- Sweet, light, smooth, wet. Easy, easy drink.

O- Sweet pils, lager. It's really nice.
