Notes:
Tecate® Light is a refreshing choice for those who love Tecate® but prefer a light beer. It's proudly brewed in our namesake town of Tecate to deliver a clear golden color, defined malt character and smooth bitterness. The fermenting process and the hops used impart a light citrus flavor and aroma, making for a truly refreshing light beer.

12oz can best by September 2023 "fresh"
On the pour a very light straw yellow body with about 2 fingers of mixed fine and fizzy head was present that quickly became rocky and started dissipating. Carbonation extremely high. Head settles at a thin, bubbly covering.
Aroma is somewhere between the generic "beer" lager smell and sweet corn straight from the can. A touch of sulfur.
Flavor is very sweet, but much better poured in a glass than straight out of the can. There is some light DMS but it seems to fade quite a bit when poured in a glass. The taste is quite sweet and corny.
Feel initially implies a full corny almost syrupy flavor, but a dry astringency quickly creeps in. Still the finish is surprisingly long for 3.9% ABV. Almost too long and this beer is only really refreshing poured in a glass.
Overall, compared to standard tecate this is a disappointment. Not nearly as good of a lager, but the flavor is still full, if not a bit off. For a light beer, this is a bit heavy.

Can purchased from Muelle de Pescadores in Isla Mujeres, Mexico.
This one pours a very light yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like corn and grain, and not much else.
This isn’t the best, but sitting on the beach on a hot day with some tacos? It does ok. There’s not much to it, it’s slightly grainy and slightly corny, and mostly just watery.
This is very light bodied, crisp, mostly clean, and pretty drinkable.
Like a lot of Mexican beers, this is completely location dependent. If you’re drinking it in Mexico, you’re probably having a good time and you’re gonna like it no matter what.

Had on tap. Straw in color with almost no head. Light on the smell, malt, slight sweet. Slightly sweet on the flavor, malt and grain. More flavorful than expected, light and smooth.

L: pours a very pale straw yellow with a white bubbly head that dissipates quickly.
S: Smells like a cheap light lager, notes of corn, sweet apple, maybe a touch of hop.
T: A touch watery, notes of corn and sweet apple, a maybe a very light hop, definitely tastes like a cheap light lager.
F: Light and crisp, very easy drinking.
O: While not great, this is better than some of the light beers.

So before ordering this I was served a strong margarita and decided that I needed to slow my roll but keep drinking. Enter Tecate Light. It pours straw yellow with a head that vanishes faster than the beer. Nothing to report on the smell, just typical light lager scents. Taste-wise, its a metal can with corn notes that tastes like strange tap water. Now maybe I am being harsh, but it did go down smooth as its under 4% and is practically a water. Not good if you're looking for flavor and body in your beer, but great after getting knocked down by a heavy marg.

Look: Clear straw gold, loose white head that dissipates after a few minutes.
Smell: Light sulfur, mineral water. Not a lot going on.
Taste: Since they cut calories with the abv and kept more carbs, it’s way more flavorful than I expected. There’s the typical corn adjunct, some breadiness, a little earthy hops and a crisp, dry finish. It’s not outstanding but there’s no way I can call it “awful”. At 3.9% you could drink this all day long. I am pleasantly surprised.
If your into micheladas, this would be a great starting pointe. If you don’t know what they are, mix 1/3 Clamato with 2/3 beer, add some Tabasco if you like it spicier. I’ve also made them with the same ratio and zing zang Bloody Mary mix.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. A thin white head dissipates immediately. Color is clear straw with abundant streaming carbonation. Aroma of lightly toasted grain, a hint of corn, a bit of fruit. Mouthfeel is light and watery. Flavor of mild toasted grain, corn, a bit of grassy hops. Overall: thin in body and flavor as expected for the style, but not offensive.

I did it. I really did. I woke up in ectasty. I woke up in this dream that any person would want to deem reality. Fuck, what I am drinking? I did it. I am here. And I am happy. Metal ass beer tasting or not, let’s live. Let’s believe.

Full disclosure, Tecate is a fridge staple in my household. That said, I can’t bring myself to drink Tecate Light outside of reviewing purposes. It’s like watered down Tecate, which is itself saying very little. Pass.

(24 oz can, BBD OCT 2019; purchased single off shelf (room temp)... poured into 28 oz mug)
L: mostly-clear, pale yellow-gold liquid, good bit of fine particulate afloat; loose, bouncy, white foam, which builds high but crumbles swift...
S: immediate relative potency to the smell, mostly sugar cookie, lightly-baked lightly-sweetish dough aromas... relatively poppin', subtle spice; cookie-like all the way
T: dried grassy-grainy angle up front; almost a white wine dry fruit note carrying out the finish, lingers too... white flour, simple cookie dough malt flavor prevalent... lightly spicy, lightly bubblegum aftertaste, with the doughy malt looming large... floury, lightly tangy note dominates
F: mildly effervescent; nondescript body contours... dry and light long after each sip, but with a head-tilting (phenolic?) warmth... does seem to have a bit more body than its contemporaries, but it's still light enough - probably better swilled chilled from can
O: yeah, it has some flavor no doubt, but not much more than Bud Light or other vaguely doughy drones in the lot (1458)

From the bottle, it pours a light clear golden color with a decent white head that slowly diminishes as you watch. In the nose, it is grains, possibly corn. In the mouth, it is grainy.

Light carbonation and a watery feel. Aroma isnt very strong, mostly a corn grain mix and malt. Maybe a little bread and grainy bread is there also
Taste is a combination of watery, sweet, sugary malt,a little bread
It is exactly as advertised, light in aroma, taste and body. I can see some people enjoying this more than I did but the corn aroma and corn syrupy taste just doesnt work for me

It poured the expected light straw yellow color with a good head that reduces quickly. The smell is corn and other grains. The taste is a sweet corn that is smooth and easy to drink. Overall nothing to get excited about but it is a easy drink.

My wife loves to buy me beer, however, she knowingly buys stuff that is less than stellar. An on-going joke between us. This latest installment is a ‘Beer from Mexico’ 12er. And this gem from the pack is about the wateriest beer I’ve ever had...
It does say “light” and it means it with ever fiber of the word - light look, mouthfeel, no smell, and at best a wheaty flavor...At least it was sessionable...
