24 oz. can:

Pours yellow with a fluffy lasting head. Trailing lace sticks.

The smell is of light grain, some cooked corn. Clean. Inoffensive.

The taste is in character of a typical macro light. Buttered corn, some grain, a touch of non-descript hops to balance sweetness. Sweet-leaning, crisp finish.

Pretty refreshing. An inoffensive, inexpensive "lawn-mower" beer.

Aroma and flavor is malts/pale malts/grains and a mix of mild fruit and beery in the finish. A little more redeemable than the American macros, decent.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass at the Taco Mac in Atlanta. The appearance is a clear, pale gold color with a very small white head. The aroma is corn. The taste is mild grain. It is a cheap light lager, but it does well what it is meant to do.

My last bottle of this one from a "Cervezas de México" variety pack. Clearly marked best-by date of September 2017 (which I assume is a year after bottling as there is a Julian date "L6272" just above that -- 272nd day of 2016 I assume.)

The beer is, as expected, incredibly pale and clear. My first impression of it was that it resembled a cider, just from how light and translucent it is. It does have quite a lot of rising bubbles, and forms a surprisingly nice-looking head of white foam on top -- it actually seems to be slightly thicker now than it was upon pouring, which is pretty drastically different from other AALs I've had (both standard and "light/lite.") The foam sticks around for a long time, too -- easily long enough that there will still be at least a thin but pretty dense layer on top when the glass empties, and it leaves some nice lacing behind as it goes too. It doesn't have the dull look like some other American AALs and even Euro pale lagers do to my eyes, it has that sort of "shine" to it that pilsners often have. It's actually a pretty nice-looking beer!

The color is not the only thing I found similar to a hard cider -- the smell of the beer right off is also very cider-like. When fridge-temperature shortly after pouring, it's appley, a bit alcohol-y, some slight funkiness hiding way off in the background... overall pretty pleasant, and I'm still surprised by just how much aroma there is considering that it's a "light" beer (and only 3.9% ABV so actually lighter than average for the style.) Things are not all good on the nose front, however; after any amount of time spent warming, that barely present funk in the background begins to emerge as a more noticeable corn-husky or wet-hay sort of smell that's not nearly as nice as the initial cidery smell.

The taste also has a bit of that cidery quality at first, though it's not as prominent as in the smell and shifts toward more of a corn-grainy sort of flavor toward the end, with most of the cidery features fading as it warms. I don't notice anything resembling hop flavors and hardly anything I'd describe as malt aside from a white bread type flavor in the aftertaste -- this is unmistakably an adjunct lager -- but it doesn't have that weird unpleasant sweetness that a lot of the American AALs I've tried have to one extent or another. It's actually very dry, with hardly any feeling of sweetness despite the "sweetish" flavors present. I've had three bottles of this over the past week and there's enough there that I wouldn't turn down more if offered -- it is light, but there's enough flavor present that it doesn't get totally drowned out even alongside spicy food. Vastly superior in the flavor department when compared to Bud Light (the only other "light" AAL I'd tried up until now.)

Mouthfeel is also surprisingly good -- though it is light-bodied of course, it doesn't come across as "watery" to me at all, just light and drinkable. Another plus is that the flavor doesn't suffer when drinking big gulps, so the mouthfeel and flavor actually work together here.

Overall, this little beer seriously surprised me -- I was not expecting to find a "light" adjunct lager that had more than one noticeable flavor to it. I was definitely not expecting to find one that I actually *liked,* let alone one that I could drink three full bottles of and still enjoy even at the end of the third. This review probably seems outrageously high to a lot of you, but I guess you can look at it as me "rating to style" -- this is just *that much* better than the couple cans of Bud Light I had a year or two ago, so a mere 0.3 point difference in score wouldn't do it justice. American macro brewers, take note -- you guys may have INVENTED light beer, but the Mexicans are definitely better at it!

From the tall can stamped with L6058484AFOB16. Sampled on December 26, 2016. I could end this review right now by saying "I drank this" and that would about cover it.

OK, it looks the way it should with a pale yellow color leading up to a foamy, frothy white head that fades down.

What little aroma I get is full of grain, rice, mildly sweet malts, and grassy hops.

The body is light but kind of smooth when I think about it.

The taste is about what you would expect from a Light Lager with a grainy and doughy bread presence followed up by a mild grassy hop finale. If you have to drink a Light Lager - go with Bud Light or Coors Light before this one.

Tecate Light | Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, S.A. de C.V. Poured from the can into a pint glass, this brew's head is two fingers thick, with solid lacing, and a light straw gold body.

I smell corn with some grassy funk going on.

Again, corn, with a slight malt sweetness that makes this really drinkable.

The mouthfeel here is medium-light with fair carbonation.

I'll rate Tecate Light with an overall 4.25. Of the slew of light AAL's out there, I'd choose this in a top three selection. This is a light brew with flavor and drinkabliliy most other's just don't contain.

Tecate Light brewed by Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, S.A. de C.V., 3.70% This brew pours a nice golden amber color with a small white head. There is also a decent amount of lacing to this light brew. The smell of Tecate Light rich with grains and malts. You pick up a slight hint of hops in the smell of this brew. Tecate Light has the look and smell of most light brews on the market, not saying that is a bad. Now for the taste, it is light with sweet grains and malts. Little to no hop bitterness in the taste of this brew. This light larger has some good flavor to it. What sets this light brew apart is some flavor. If you rate with in the style it a decent drinking light brew. The mouth feel of Tecate Light is Clean, Smooth, Rich, and Refreshing. Overall I'm giving Tecate Light a solid 4 out 5. I would buy this brew again. Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, S.A. de C.A, did a real nice job with this light brew.

I bought a 20 pack for $10.99 with a coupon. The label states 3.9% alcohol. This is a beer for hot weather basically a very light beer. Not bad considering about .50 cents a can.

It's low on flavor, but it's light and refreshing if you are looking for a lawnmower beer. It's definitely better with lime, because it needs all the flavor enhancement it can get.
