Pours a clear, light yellow color with a little fizz, not even enough to create much of a head. The aroma is grainy with a bit of spice. The taste and texture is thin as expected but the spice is much bolder than I was expecting. The blue agave nectar of course adds sweetness to the flavor. Not bad, but also not something I would plan on buying again.

Pours a pale straw yellow, with a plentiful quad-finger head of white suds. Almost no trace of lace, though, oddly.

Nose says some spice, corn malts. Curious mix.

Taste is sweet for sure, no doubt from the agave syrup infusion and sweet adjunct malts. There's a spicy and hoppy kick there, at the finish, luckily. Not bad, and one I'd like to re-taste to get a better idea of this unusual flavor combination.

Promo bottle received 6/11. I was skeptical to be sure, but this one is worse than my already lowered expectations. the pale gold color with thin, soapy head that actually laced the glass are the best parts of this attempt by Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc to cash in on the flavored wheat beer craze. aromas of spent grain husks, skunk, and hints of sweetener great the nostrils. can't tell there is any wheat in the malt bill. across the tongue i detect more corn sweetness, little to no carbonation, and, fortunately, no lingering aftertaste. i doubt even the shocktop crowd will fall for this gimmick.

Drank 25 March 2016, from a bottle; not sure when it was bottled. Park of a beers of Mexico 12-pack. I enjoyed this just because it was unlike anything I'd ever said and I was unsure what to expect when I tasted it. And also because of the overall balance and drinkability of the beer. The agave flavor blended smoothly with the more typical beer flavors, and apparently some spices as well, that all together created a different (for me) but nicely blended flavor profile. While the color and head were nothing particularly exceptional, the smoothness and novelty won me over. I admit that I went looking for a 6-pack of just this beer soon after drinking a couple from the 12-pack (though it was not available in my area, at least).

Dos Equis Azul brewed by Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, S.A. de C.V. This brew has an ABV of 5.70% Azul pours out a nice amber color with a small white head. Nice looking brew, the smell is rich with grains and malts. You also pick up a hit of hops and spices in the smell. Now for the taste, it is bold with flavor and spices. The spices are just right. There is a lot going on in this brew. Dos Equis Azul has a nice balance to it, there is nothing overpowering about this brew. I like how smooth this brew is. The mouthfeel of Dos Equis Azul is rich smooth and bold. This is a nice drinking brew, you really can't pick up on the 5.7% ABV in this brew. Overall I'm giving Dos Equis Azul a 4.5 out 5. Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, S.A. de C.V. , did a nice job with this one. I would buy this brew again.

Have you ever had Sweetwaters Blue? If so, than you've had this. Who would have thought that blue agave would have such a blueberry scent and taste. Albeit, it's a tad artificial. It's not bad and makes for an easily drinkable beer I just wish it had a bit more heft.
