Even though it comes in a dark brown bottle this is still a yellow pilsner at heart. Usual appearance despite the dark color bottle, soft 1/3" white head on top. Heartier than most Mexican beers. Aroma was maize, you call it corn.

Taste is definitely above average from this region and style. Good hop zip, noble. Listen pilsen malt, not really much in the way of lager sweetness from the yeast. At a Mexican restaurant, this and negra modelo are probably your best choices.

Certainly the best Mexican beer I've had...if there's corn in it, it's little enough for the brew to remain crisp enough to feel like a German pilsner.

If it's a choice between Corona and this - go with this one every time. Cheaper too!

Look of a murky pilsner, golden. Not much of a smell. Taste of sheves of wheat and barley. In the mouth it is full bodied. I like craft beer best, yet this commercial from south of the border is decent.

One of my favorite Mexican beers, Bohemia is light and refreshing, with just enough flavor to fit the style. It's a pale golden color with zero head. The smell almost reminds me of a VERY light Belgian; a little bit of sweet hay and malt and a touch of grassy hops. It tastes mostly sweet and malty, with a bit of a pepperiness to balance. The mouthfeel is medium-light, with a little bit lower carbonation than one might expect from the style. Overall, very drinkable and refreshing, a definite step above other popular Mexican brews.

When I was travelling in Mexico, it was one my favourite beer, regarding the macrobrewery. Of course, it is a clasical one, but it is find. The Body is typical: yellow and Gold, average carbonation and well balanced between malt and hop, the taste is really pleasant at the mouth. This beer is perfect with a tlayuda de Oaxaca.

Most all Mexican beers taste very similar to me...except this one. This beer actually has some floral hops aroma and taste. Very cleanly brewed with no glaring defects. Always my choice in Mexican restaurants with limited beer lists, although I only remember buying it at a store once. First time to taste this beer was 1966 at the brewery in Monterrey. Couldn't understand why they would make Tecate if they were capable of making a beer like Bohemia. Bohemia sold at a higher "premium beer" price in those days...don't know about today. If you haven't tried it, compare it to other Mexican beers you drink and you might be pleasantly surprised.
