There's no better Mexican beer out there. It's hard to find, but as far as refreshing pilsener-style brews go, this is an excellent example and worth trying. Goes best with spicy food and is sessionable but doesn't shy away from giving you a kick after downing a few.
Highlight here is mouthfeel - very crisp, above-average carbonation while retaining flavor throughout. Very pleasant and almost nothing I'd rather drink on a beach.

Served from a 12 oz. foil cap brown bottle - no freshness date.

As clear as beer gets with a pale golden hue. Bright white 1/4 in. head that has nice sticking lacework.

Whispy notes of clean (faint) hop that travel quickly through your nasal caverns.

Slight grain malt lies nicely under the clean earthy hops notes. There's a very faint mellon/pair/peach flavor going on in the background - nice. Crisp and somewhat dry - but ultimately very clean and well balanced.

Thin body with a nice dry finish. Fine carbonation that doesn't get in the way of the flavor.

Drinkability is high dur to it's non-intrusiveness. Pairs well with zippy and zesty foods.

Overall a good mass-produced Mexican lager. I'm impressed with it's solid yet gentle qualities which usually fall prey to money hungry beer giants. Nice job keeping it real.

L: Pours brilliant golden straw with a 1” rapidly dissipating white foam collar. Leaves splotchy lace.
S: Light grains, no appreciable hop, faint bread crust.
T: Fairly dry, some light malt flavor, faint fruit.
F: Crisp, highly carbonated, light.
O: Very easy to drink but not a lot that stands out.

I don't generally drink Mexican beers, and this was the first time I tried this brand and beer. I was quite surprised at how pleasant it was. This seemed like a light lager by appearance and taste, though the head was a little lacking. Consequently, the body was found to be light, yet the beer was flavorful, with a nice, almost malty, finish. The mouthfeel was similar to what one would find in most of the American large brew beers. Very drinkable and enjoyable!

Bohemia is a very drinkable, well balanced beer.

Pours a dark amber, with a moderate head. Has a great malty/spicey aroma.

I could taste the malt at the front end, and pleasent bitterness, and a nice crisp finish with a hint of hops. I would expect more bitterness from a Pilsner, but that is not a negative for me.

Overall an excellent beer for nice days outdoors.

This is a good beer. I drank three of these watching Mexican League Soccer and eating at my local Mexican restaurant, El Toro in Springfield, OH. Fajitas are fantastic and the beer is cold, the football high level. Lot of emotion. This is a good European Lager made in Mexico. Thank Emporer Maximillian for this, he brought the Austrian and German brewers with him long ago. In the bottle there is gold top and silver top. The silver is a dark and tasty brew if you can find it. Good beer.

Strikes me as more of a Bohemian Pilsner than Vienna....and a good Bohemian Pilsner at that.

A-Clean and impressive looking in the glass....light golden color....good carbonation bubbles but little head or lacing.

S-Spicy and floral hops lead the way...very nice aroma....some earthiness too....a sweeter malt aroma...almost a little of the honeyed/vanilla notes iI've experienced in some Maibocks. Great aroma.

T-Spicy and floral hops mingle with the sweeter malts and make this quite tasty.

M-Medium bodied....medium firm carbonation.

D-This is a winner. An enjoyable lighter colored beer from Mexico. Would seem to pair nicely with spicy foods...not the worlds greatest Bohemian Pilsner but this is good.

My favorite Mexican beer, although I only had a few. Better then Dos Equis and it smashes Corona. I thought it was very crisp & it had clean finish. It went very well w/ my prime rib steak & chili.

After I fished the lime out of the bottleneck, I poured this into a glass.

Appearance: Pale yellow with a thin white head. So clear you could read a newspaper through it.

Smell: A little malt and fruitiness.

Taste: A little sweet pilsner malt flavor and a small but noticable fruitiness, but not from the lime. Tastes more like apple.

Mouthfeel: Nice and crisp.

Drinkability: A crisp, highly drinkable lager with just enough class to be interesting.

Pours a clear golden color, Smell is nice and very sweet aroma, Taste Is mostly sweet malt, Mouthfeel is good, good amount of carbonation present, Very drinkable.

According to producers of Bohemia, (Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma, S.A. de C.V.) this is a bohemian-style Pilsner.

Probably one of the best beers from Mexico; I invite people to try Bohemia.

Poured from a short 12 ounce bottle into a Samuel Smith pint glass.

Appearance: Clear yellow body with a small snow white head and low carbonation.

Smell: I'm surprised at how hoppy this smells. Nice citrus and grapefruit aroma. I wasn't expecting that from a Mexican lager.

Taste: Taste is similarly hoppy with the taste of oranges.

Poured a light straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a grassy and spicy hop with a light grainy malt.

The taste consisted of a clean malt and a surprisingly lively hop.

The mouthfeel was toward the lighter side of the style with good carbonation.

Overall a very tasty and hoppy lager. Likely the best offering from south of the border.

Bottleof 355 ml, poured into a low wide glass. Bohemia Obsura was really great, so let's see this one.
Colour is golden yellow, with a greenish hue when against light, with minimal amount of bubbles rising to the top and a one finger head that was quickly gone.
Extra-ordinarily great smell, limes, a bit fruity too, but not sweet fruity, citrus like.
The flavour surely follows the aroma, but in the contrary of other mexican beers that have a lime flavour, this one tastes more natural and not so artificial.
Medium thickness on the body, a bit dry on the palate and average carbonation.
Overall, it managed to make me hold my positive stance against Bohemia, that I had from the Obscura.
If in Mexico, look only for this one

Pours a pale yellow color with a small bubbly white head that left little lacing. Aroma of husky grains a nice floral hoppiness. Flavor has a nice hop bite at the beginning, grassy, lightly sweet pale malts in the middle and finishes bone dry. I was quite impressed with the hop flavor coming from a Mexican beer. Light to medium bodied, crisp clean finish. This was a pretty good beer and quite drinkable. Probably the best beer you'll find from south of the border.

12-ounce stubby --short, brown, and handsome in gold foil and trim-- poured into a weizen glass yields a pale straw-yellow colored body capped with a finger of white foam that shrivels on down leaving scattered lacing.

Smells malty with spicy, herbal hops.

Taste is lightly malty-sweet and a little spicy with herbal, grassy hops and a nice bitter finish. Tiny lingering syrupy sweetness, otherwise nice and clean, crisp and refreshing, with drinkability unequaled by anything else I've enjoyed from south of the border.

I went to our favorite Mexican restaurants last night and I felt like a beer instead of the usual margarita, so I got one of these.

I was very suprised! I thought I was basically ordering one step up from a Corona. I was wrong. This is the real deal. The smell is wonderful and ranks right up there with hacker pschorr or a good tripel beer. It has sort of a sweet vanilla smell. Top quality ingredients for sure. Perfect for Mexican dishes, but I just bought a 12 pack for $14 and I can't think of a better beer for the price to drink with any type of food.

It is crisp on the pallet and the head is thin like most lagers.

Served in a pilsner glass. Nice pillowy half-inch head. Champagne look to it with a slightly golden-yellow hue.

Mildly spicy, hoppy aroma. Fresh, earthy and grainy. Very true to the classic pilsner characteristics.

I don't know if it's something with Mexican beverages in general but, like the other heavily German-influenced Mexican beers I've had like Negra Modelo and Dos Equis amber, and bebidos like Mexican Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Jarritos, etc., there doesn't seem to be much carbonation in this. Whereas in the other beers I've mentioned, just a little more fizz was desirable, the Bohemia was quite fine to drink this way (and I clean my glassware out properly and thoroughly, so I think I can rule out a scummy glass for affecting the head and bubbles, etc.). So easy to drink and staple-worthy.

Best Mexican beer I've had, even though it's a distinctly German-style brew. Or Vienna. Or whatever it is.

Bright gold color. Sudsy falling head. Aromas of clear grain and well-judged hops and husk. The palate features a nice balance of creamy, fine, fizzy texture, malty, medium body and, again, well-judged bitterness. Bright lemon battles with wet earth. Finishes clean and dry. Certainly the best Mexican light lager I can easily get my hands on, and in the more general Austalasian/Helles/Lager category one of the best as well.

Pour: A pale clear yellow with no head a bit of lacing
Smell: Very mild, a bit sweet with slight citrus undertone
Taste: Very smooth, crisp and refreshing. A citrus undertone and finishes with a slight bitterness from the hops and a peppery spice.
My favorite Mexican beer. Pleasantly surprised and I recommend for a hot day or with a nice spicy meal.

Overview: simply the best Mexican pilsner beer in the world!

I have been drinking Bohemia since the mid 1980's. This is by far the best Mexican beer in the world, and I have had all the commercially-available Mexican beers that I could ever get my hands and lips on while living in Texas and California. IMO, the Mexicans perfected Pilsners from the Germans and this is their crowning achievement. Viva Mexico!

This beer pours a clear gold color, has a wonderful bouquet - smells almost like a Pale Ale. It is clean, clear and crisp. It goes great with spicy Mexican food or BBQ or hamburg or hotdog. It is a great thirst-quenching beer - being well-carbonated it slakes your thirst when drunk ice cold on hot humid summer days.

Was categorized as a Vienna Lager with a very interesting history, but recently was recategorized as a German Pilsner.

It also has the best, sexiest, darkest bottle a beer could ever aspire to. One that twinkles alluringly and sweats temptingly in the sunshine and high humidity...

You must seek this beer out! You cannot go wrong with this beer.

Bottles purchased at Beers of the World for my Day of the Dead party. Drank directly from the bottle.

Poured a little out later to get an idea of the appearance- it's pale yellow, typical adjunct lager look. Pretty fizzy. Can't get much of a read on head or lacing.

Smells like sweet grainy malt, grass, and a bit of pine.

Unexpectedly great taste here. The hops impart a peppery, piney pite, which is buffeted by strong carbonation. Sweet grainy malts as well, that are kept in check by the grassy hop bite. Not much lingering bitterness. Dry finish.

Light bodied, well carbonated, very refreshing.

The best Mexican cheap lager out there for sure. Would pair incredibly well with Mexican food.

Pours a clear light yellow with foamy head. Little retention and spotty lacing. Smell: spicy hopping with a sweet toasted malt graininess. Taste: sweet graininess, hints of white grape juice / white nectarine. Spicy and mildly earthy hopping. Balanced. Mouthfeel: medium bodied, appropriate carbonation. Great session beer from Mexico.

Looks can be deceiving with this one...

Pale yellow, fizzy and typical. However, a good finger of foam results from a steady pour, and remains for a couple minutes.

Smell is vaguely earthy, floral, with a cameo of sweet spice...it's Saaz hops, just barely. Much more pleasing that the other Mexican lager options.

Taste is spicy Saaz again, with a short note of sweet grain, reminiscient of grain of paradise. Good carbonation, and clean mouthfeel. Utilitarian, but it does the job well. Very easy to put down a few on a warm day.

Paired two of these with a "Puerco en Mole" dish.

Very impressed with Bohemia. I really hope it catches on as a Mexican beer, because it steps up the beer game. It is a favorite of mine for many reasons.
The smell is good. The taste is unique...a hint of potency, and a hint of sweet. Similar to Negra Modelo, but has its own style for sure. I always look twice in the stores just to make sure I didn't pass it up. I really enjoy Bohemia, there is no doubt about it.
