This is my go-to beer when there is no time to shop or it is 100 degrees outside. It has a nice gold color, good foam and lots of nice bubbles. It is very balanced, clean and crisp and goes really well with food. The best Mexican beer I have had and in my overall top ten for an everyday beer.

Two 12 ounce bottles consumed with a dinner of fish tacos at Manuel's in downtown Austin while on a business trip. Clean, light and balanced with a bit of a floral quality that I found enjoyable. An easy beer to drink and it paired nicely with my meal. Head and shoulders above every other Mexican beer I've had to date.

This was my regular go-to beer while I lived in Mexico, at that time it tasted great. Taking the opportunity to revisit this back in its country.
Yellow golden color with a thin head with short retention.
Good aroma for style with nice honey and bread notes.
Flavor with notes of herbal hops, grainy malt, honey, mild floral and some lemon drops. Dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness.
Light towards medium body with proper carbonation.
Very decent for a mass lager, balanced with easily perceived hops to my surprise. Maybe that is why 15 years ago I perceived this to be a bitter one, that before the craft beer world. No thrills, but it is refreshing and pleasant without being dull.

Poured from a bottle (best by date 19Sep15) into a pilsner glass.
LOOK: Pours with a finger's worth of white foam that halves itself after a minute and a half. Gold in color. There is a plethora of ascending bubbles. Lacing is thin, but moderate.
SMELL: Mild aromas of grass and sweet bready pilsner malts first enter my olfactory receptors. These malt aromas are incredibly well balanced by mild bitter hops and slightly less mild spicy hops.
TASTE: Initial taste is mild grass and sweet bread flavors that combine with milder bitter hop flavors. All flavors persist as mild spicy hop flavors enter immediately after. This is incredibly well balanced as the smell told me.
FEEL: Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. This goes down smooth and finishes crisp.
NOTE: As noted twice, this was brilliantly balanced between hops and malts. I know people always compare this to other brews from Mexico, but they really shouldn't. This is not an American Adjunct Lager and shouldn't be compared to Corona or Dos Equis.

Light bodied, crisp and refreshing. Slightly darker straw color to it with a little more malt presence than others in the style. Everything you expect, and nothing you don't. One of the stronger contenders in the mexican beer world in my opinion.

12oz bottle at Jalepenos on downtown Sandpoint .

This beer pours a clear, medium golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and yet somewhat creamy bone-white head, which leaves some spotty o Ean

It smells of semi-sweet corn grits and cereals, mild acetone esters, a further breadiness, and a faint earthy earthy bitterness. The taste is grainy pale malt, astringent corn mass, a small chemical plant effluent edginess, and pithy earthy dead leafy hops.

The carbonation is pretty innocuous, barely a wan frothiness presiding, the body mealy middleweight, and plainly smooth, the inherent corniness coming through the rye (figuratively, of course). It finishes off-dry, the gritty corn keeping it's hold on the whole deal.

Not really all that bad, especially on a finally cooled down 100 degree day - not that this is really indicative of the style listed here. Sort of a one and done for me, as my steak looks like a way better option than another one of these.

Not many Mexican restaurants in Houston actually carry this beer. Was at one tonite and decided to go back 25 years when this used to be my regular on trips below the border. Come to think of it, this is the only beer my gin guzzling dad ever liked, so there that is something. Poured clear into a frosted beer mug. Very little head, sucked all the ice off of the sides and bottom of the glass and formed an upside down ice mountain in my glass. This brought me back to the days when my favorite mexican restaurant used to store their mugs so cold this was an every day occurrence. Crisp tasting, faint everything, this is a great beer to relieve your palate from over IPA indulgence. Seriously though, didn't really think about reviewing this beer while drinking it, but it brought back a lot of memories. Great beer to have with food, that is it's strong point. Having a party, break this out for the food, no one will be mad
