Dos Equis Ambar (Amber) is a vienna style lager that was originally brewed by the German-born Mexican brewer Wilhelm Hasse in 1897.
The brand was named "Siglo XX" ("20th century") to commemorate the arrival of the new century, and the bottles were marked with the Roman numerals "XX", or "Dos Equis" (two X).

On tap in Cozumel Mexico @ the Money Bar. Sitting by the water, eating tacos and quaffing multiple cold mugs of this amber brew was quite relaxing. Wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Positive vibes up front with an attractive pellucid amber appearance, a large white head and good lacing. Subtle aroma; some breadiness, some caramel but nothing distinctive. Settles nicely on the palate as the malts assert their dominance. Taste is dry, moderately sweet, and there's just a wee touch of bitterness so things don't get too cloying. No off flavors. Clean, nicely carbonated, medium-to-light bodied mouthfeel.

Pours a very clear mid amber color with two fingers of white foam and a nice amount of lacing, from a twelve ounce bottle into a fluted pilsener glass. Aroma of muted malts with little hop presence on the nose. Flavors of crystal malt / kilned malt and no hop presence on the carbonation is decent and so is mouthfeel. Easy drinker.

One of the best imports, can’t beat it on draft at a Mexican crawl. If they serve it to you in a frosted mug with a lime wedge, you’re in the right place

I was very impressed. Thought this was going to be the same-old-Mexican tasting beer, but I was very wrong. Very, very good.
