Pours a light caramel color into a pint with a thin but frothy head that seems to stay along for the ride. Not much smell, only slightly malty. Carbonation is very good. The initial taste is sweet with only a hint of bitter aftertaste and not much else. Easy drinking but lacking in overall flavor by far, I'm sure it appears to the masses because of its blandness. Lacing is very good as well. Overall its a very drinkable brew but lacks the flavors that would make me want to come back for more.

I hardly ever drink Mexican beer but when I do I drink DosEquis Amber Larger! The fact that it is a Vienna Larger helps as it has some real beer attributes.

Looks to have a beautiful amber, golden-baked-brown color -- crystal clear. Nice beige-pink head that slowly fades to a nice little lace.
Smells subtle. Earthy. Something sweet, like ripe pomegranates.
Taste, I must say, was a little disappointing at first, but the more slowly I drank it, the more nuance I could pick out. Sour is the dominant taste here--think a very very faint gose-esque sourness. Something prickly at the end, like cactus paddles. Very light touch of citrus hops in the middle, perhaps. little taste of cardboard, of all things, in the high middle when savored, but otherwise is undetectable.
Feels light-to-medium bodied with a carbonated kick.
Overall, I'd drink it if it were handed to me or on sale, but not a go to beer for me.
It' cheap; give it a try.

This beer has an appealing color and a nice head. It has more of a taste character than many lagers, but it's nothing special. Still there's nothing negative lingering on the tongue, which is good.

2009 backlog. Mexican Nite Cerveza Numero Tres!! 12 oz bottle. Aroma is of...nothing. I can literally smell almost nothing. Faint malt presence maybe. Color is amber, pours a nice head with no retention, no lacing. Flavor is maltier than the Corona or Tecate, which is no surprise given the darker hue. Boring stuff.

A: crystal clear; amber colored; 1 finger off white head that receded to a very thin cap; very nice lacing;

S: sweet malt; maybe a hint of nuttiness;

T: sweet malt for a moment, then a metallic taste takes over that lasts through the finish; mild bitterness at the end;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;

O: the flavor just doesn't do it for me;

Bottle handed to me at an event recently...been a long time since I had this one. Pours deeper than expected, a medium amber, with a decently creamy head and some lacing. Nose is grainier than typical for the style, but malty as well. A tuch of sweetness, but not really any hops. Taste is quite malty with both fruity and slightly roasty malts. Some residual sweetness but remains crisp. Overall, not great, but much better than expected.

This is my favorite Mexican beer but even though it's Cinco de Mayo I'm not drinking one right now. But I thought about it and figured it was the best day to put it on my list.
Nice medium amber goes down easily and pairs great with a fat burrito
