Like a girl that wears Chuck Taylors, Raul is taking this one in caution. Dos Equis comes in a green glass, so we are t exactly starting on the right foot. That being said, Raul has totally dated a girl that wore Chucks, and it was all good! And when he drains this Mexican lager out of a green bottle (poured into a Bruery tulip) he’s feeling it! I guess all this one boils down to: don’t judge a book by its cover!

By far my favorite Mexican beer. Very smooth and refreshing. Enjoy on a hot summer day after yard work. It really hits the spot. Would definitely get this beer again and again. Cheers.

The sparkling gold body has a white head that leaves a solid curtain on the glass.

Notes of white grape and semi-sweet corn come along with an almost tart spritz of lemon as well as a touch of wheat.

There's a bit more balance away from the sweetness than found in the Tecate lager, as it brings with it a moderate froth, moderate body and semi-wet finish.

Look: Urine yellow with almost no head. Just a tiny bit of white foam.

Smell: Different than I expected. Sort of earthy and sweet.

Taste: Virtually nothing. Like carbonated water with a hint of sweet corn at the end.

Mouthfeel: Thin, with little carbonation.

Overall: Doesn't taste outright bad, but extremely boring and one-note.

Drank from a 12 ounce bottle. Rating is based on the style.

Look - The green bottle looks nice, and all the labeling is decent. Nothing too exciting, but it doesn't give a bad first impression.

Smell - Nothing.

Taste - Dirt, rust, mineral water. Very unpleasant.

Feel - Uncomfortably carbonated. Very hard to drink.

Overall - An incredibly offputting beer. Not recommended at all.

As best as I can recall, Dos Equis was the first beer I ever had. I was 19, and was going to Cheddar's with my dad. They let me have beer because I was over 18 and with an adult, so I chose this one. Like some other beers I've reviewed, this one was my go-to for a long time in my earlier days, and out of all of those past beers, this is the one I still get semi consistently.

For a typical mainstream beer, it definitely stands out in some ways. The taste and smell are somewhat similar to your average AALs, but I always notice a strong earthy taste in this one that I don't get from others. It's refreshing and pairs well with Mexican food, but it works well by itself for a chill night. I definitely prefer it over Corona. Overall, yeah, it's not all that impressive compared to exotic IPAs and craft brews, but it works well for what it is and it's a nostalgic beer for me.

Vacationing at an all inclusive in Cancun, it seems all they have are Mexican macro lagers. At least it’s free!
Pours a yellow straw, almost piss water look. A tiny wisp of head dissipates at the snap of a finger.
Aromas are perceived as mainly sweet, consisting of cereal grain and corn adjuncts. There is also a lime zest thing going on.
The taste has a grainy and corn adjuncts sweetness. Very light grassy hops bitterness.
Light bodied with a carbonation that is spritzy at first, but, unfortunately dies out midway. It has a wet finish, neither as crisp or as dry as I would like, and, again, there is that odd lime taste.
This turned into a bit of chore to drink. I actually wish it was a bit more on the flavorless side, because the lime and corn adjunct flavors bothered me. It was pretty bad. Will have to move on to Dos Equis Amber next.
