I love this cerveza!I have tried a few spanish brews that I have not been impressed. It smell like a little skunky, but the taste is great. Mouthfeel is like a bud and this beer is very balanced and easy to drink. Try this beer and you will not be mad with yourself!

A great beer all around. I love the taste and I can usually get it at a decent price from a store down the road. Good for parties and just relaxing around the grill. Maybe not the best beer in the world but it is far from the worst. I would personally say that it is better than Corona.

A: Normal golden lager colour. Light yellow, beautiful.

S: Sweet metallic corn, barley, touch of hops.

T: Perfect golden pilsner. Sweet, slightly bitter, complex-ish palate with a biscuit finish.

M: Thin, just above average.

D: Very drinkable, particularly enjoyable in any situation.

This beer is notable for it's purity. It has no extra chemicals that some macro beers have, chemicals that exacerbate hangovers. This beer can be overused without hangovers. However I recommend it as an excellent beer with dinner -- to enjoy in moderation.

First off, Dos Equis or XX is my favorite dinner beer. By that, I mean I drink it just about every time I go out to eat at a nice restaurant. It's taste and feel is smooth with a very high drinkability, color is soft yellowish and smell is kind of sweet. I generally buy it in bottles and the price is nice for the quality.

Not a beer to get drunk on, perhaps a gateway to liquor like I use it for, but not for the actual purpose. Definitely good for just relaxing one evening watching sports or a movie.

this beer has a milder taste than a lot of lagers, but its special. a great alternative to corona this beer has a real nice sweeter smell with a citric afterstaste, nice and hoppy. poured with a medium head not much to brag about. thought this beer tasted very nice. i will undoubtedly drink it again. recommended especially for lighter drinkers.

Very good tastng beer in my opinion. Way better choice than Coors Lite or Bud Light. Smooth and good taste. Way too many people on here complain a lot but i think its a great beer. I may not be a huge beer person but i know what i like and what i recommend.

On tap in an 18 ounce glass at a breezy beachside bar. (anyone reading this in San Diego may know where I'm talking about just by that description.)

Honestly this is one of my favorite beers out there. I've always enjoyed Dos Equis Special and Amber, but I prefer this. It's a very smooth beer that compliments a lime wedge perfectly, unlike Corona, which just tastes like a funky mess. It goes down very well and i find it to be very drinkable. I'm sure a lot of people may find it a tad bit bland or boring, but as far as a Mexican brew, I have a tough time beating this. Nothing beats a Dos Equis and a burrito.

The green bottle doesn't match the brown. But it's still aaight. No Spanish movie stars...but I've had the hot cholas want deez nutz while drinking this. Drink it when the choice is this or Corona.

In my humble opinion, this is the best American Macro around. Appearance is kinda flat, but the smell picks it up. Much sharper than most macros and no corn smell. Taste is similar to a euro pale. Mouthfeel is light but decent. Drinkability is fantastic.

"Stay thirsty my friends"

A - For the style, looks good. Pale yellow color.

S - A bit skunky, but smells like a stock beer.

T - For a Mexican style macro, it does have quite a bit of flavor. The one odd thing I found with this beer, is that its flavor really comes out as it gets colder :S. But good none the less.

M - Carbonated, Full, and very smooooth.

D - On a hot day, ice cold, hands down this is the perfect beer. Or washing down any spicy food or greasy wings. Easy to down a lot of these.

Overall its a great beer for what it is, defiantly better than Corona. Highly recommended!

Served in a bottle. Popped a lime in there. No salt, I never use salt on XX, only with Corona or Tecate.

First I must mention, this beer is super drinkable, if that makes any sense. I could drink it all day long. It goes great with any food, especially spicy. Tonight we are having sincronizadas and XX will do just fine.

The smell is masked by the lime, but I'm sure it's pretty lager like.

The taste is smooth and it bubbles/fizzes nicely on the tongue.

Through the green tint of the bottle the beer looks perfect.

Aggressive pour from a 12 oz. can got me 1 finger of white soapy head topping a clear golden beer with lots of streaming bubbles.

Smell is fairly plain barley and malts with that white bread smell in it. No skunk smell so perhaps the can protects this beer better than the bottle.

Taste is like clear water with some barley and malts with a bit of hops somewhere in there. Very clean taste and refreshing when served cold.

Mouth feel is very wet and watery with a nice easy finish on the backside.

So far this would have to be my favorite beer from south of the border. I always liked Tecate but it does have kind of an odd paper like taste as it finishes. I do not get that with this beer. I also see in some reviews the skunk thing happening. Maybe cans are the way to go to protect the beer better. With a low ABV, and a refreshing taste when served up cold, I can see me popping several of these sitting poolside this summer when it gets up to 115 degrees!

I love Dos Equis. It's definitely my favorite economy priced beer from Mexico.

A: Light golden, very thin look to it.

S: Smells like corn, not in a very bad way like high corn content brews usually have.

T: Very light taste that is pleasing to the taste buds all the way through. The aftertaste is especially pleasant and doesn't reek of "cheapness" like many other beers from Mexico do.

M: Soft and mellow in the mouth. Doesn't get intense or too harsh at all.

D: Can drink a lot and never have any bad experiences or gulps of liquor.

Overall: I'm not sure why the ratings are so low on this one but I personally love it. Would recommend.

Screw Corona, this is the Mexican Beer. Good amber color, light head, light yet a good body. The only beer to drink with Mexican food. Very thirst quenching, so you can eat as many peppers as you like!

Dos Equis Special Lager brewed by Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, S.A. de C.V., with an ABV of 4.30% This brew pours out a nice golden amber color with a small white head. The smell of Dos Equis Special Lager, is rich with grains and corn, and malts. You also pick up a hit of hops in the smell of this brew. Now for the taste of Dos Equis Special Lager, it is bold with flavors. You pick up on grains and malts in the taste of this brew. Dos Equis Special Lager is a real smooth drinking brew. This brew has the look, taste and feel of most American style larges on the market. Now I'm not say that is a bad thing. There is nothing overpowering about Dos Equis Special Lager, it goes down nice and smooth. The mouthfeel of Dos Equis Special Lager, is rich, bold, smooth and refreshing. If you are looking for a bolder lighter brew look this one up . Overall I'm giving Dos Equis Special Lager, a solid 4 out of 5. I would buy this brew again. A: Pours a light gold/yellow, very clear, not too much head and very little lacing.

T: Barely any hops, a tad malty and a tad sweet. Something good about it though.

M: Feels really refined and is easy on the mouth.

D: Goes down really smooth, I could drink a ton of these too not too heavy at all.

A: Pale straw color, foamy-fizzy head. Much carbonation.

S: Pleasant smells of some malts, kinda like a Heineken in some way that I couldn't explain. Really really faint though.

T: Has a fair amount of bitterness, but not a lot at the beginning and finishes very clean, has some taste of malts and adjunct but definitely not a lot.

M: Light, a tad bit watery. Easy to gulp down ice-cold on a hot day.

O: It's a nice beer, definitely not offensive, has great drinkability. All in all, it has it's place.

Pint on draft at El Rayo in Scarborough, Maine. Served with a lime. Review reflects presence of said lime.

Appearance: Crystal clear straw with a thin white head that is gone swiftly.

Aroma: Almost nothing. Crisp. Smells like water, if water had a smell.

Taste: Tastes like cold. Maybe a tiny hint of cereal grain. Dominant note was lime because, as stated, there was a lime.

Mouthfeel: As water.

Overall: There are beers in the world that are meant to be fussed over, and it's right and good to consider the hop profile, the grain bill and the intentions of the brewer in crafting the brew. This is not one of those beers. This is a beer to drink ice cold, with burritos, outside on a hot day. If that sounds unappealing to you, you may need to lighten up a bit. Some beers have single uses (such as plowing with burritos), and they hit that single-use target perfectly. I consider DX a bullseye on that level.

Taking this beer for what it is.

A- slight yellow color little bit of head.

S- Smells kind of grainy and I really do smell lime in this thing.

T- By itself it's alright but I prefer to add a lime and I think it tastes very good with one.

M- It's light feeling and waterlike consistency. But not in a bad way.

D- This just means it's an easy drinker and goes great with spicy food. A good one to go to on taco night.

A rarity in that its a lager with some character. Nothing amazing, but the clearly the best mexican pils. It has a decent amber color and medium and lively body. Basic but attractive malt aroma and lovely balanced acidity.

T: Sweet malt and more citrus hops than the smell, also lots of carbonation;

M: Very refreshing, sweet bitternees that becomes little acid, high carbonation and light body;

Pours a clear light golden color with a foamy white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma and flavor are a nice balance of sweet malts and bitter hops. Very crisp and refreshing in the mouth. This is one of those beers that a big plate of spicy Tex-Mex cries out for.
