More or less a standard american lager, but it does actually have some body to it! I'd definitely put this above Miller or Bud! And it actually looks like beer when you pour it.

I guess I'm just not into the Mexican lager style of beers. It can be a refreshing and non confrontational beverage, but that doesn't make it good. Imo.

Surprisingly crisp, light tasting beer, great cold on a warm summer day. Very carbonated, but goes down easy. Not the best beer, but certainly not a bad one.

Pours clear, light golden color. Head is almost non-existant. Moderate lacing. A light, crisp flavor with a citrusy hint. Just a tad bitter. Not the most flavorful beer but it would be refreshing on a hot summer day.

12oz. Can into a pils glass.

A- A fizzy, white head drops from a finger to a thin film quite quickly. The body is a clean, golden-straw with moderate-heavy carbonation. Virtually no stick or head after a few minutes.

S- Sweet and slightly vegetal. Light grassy aroma.

T- Sweet grains with a hint of corn like flavor. Kind of a sweet cream of wheat or a sugary corn-based cereal. Fairly dry finish.

M- Light body with heavy carbonation. Crisp and dry.

O- It really blends into the macro imports. Nothing off putting, but it doesn't do anything to set itself apart. Maybe a little more flavorful than some, maybe. Refreshing on a hotter than usual, spring day.

12 FL OZ bottle
Served in a pilsner glass

It is pale yellow in color. Two inches of white head quickly subside leaving no trace of its existence.

I don't get much smell. I was expecting that lovely skunked aroma that is ofter associated with Mexican macro lagers. Instead I get a little grain and light floral aroma.

It is lacking much flavor. It tastes a lot like an American macro lager. I probably couldn't discern this from a PBR.

Thin mouthfeel

It's not skunky like Corona, so it's got that going for it.

A: Crystal clear golden straw color, little white head,

S: Nothing much to speak of, slight hops

T: Slight hop bitterness, slight adjunct grain sweetness, slight fruitiness

M: Light, crisp, dry

O: Average beer, not my favorite but I've had worse.

L: Roughly a 3 on the SRM. Absolutely robust crystal clear with a golden color. One and a half inch head that dissipates pretty quickly that is tooth-white and frothy.

S: Mild floral notes and a subtle aroma underneath almost like summer grass. That's for hops, as for esters a very, very mild plum scent with some tangerine.

T: Very mild stone fruit/ plum flavor as was detectable in the aroma. Slight breadiness afterwards, but very very subtle. Maybe a little pine at the end, nut like the other flavors, very, very mild.

F: Very light mouthfeel as far as body. Carbonation is medium, and a lot like seltzer.

O: Refreshing and very clean. A great American style lager and as anyone that's had them at a picnic knows, they go great with cookout food, especially barbecue! A Mexican beer that's a good old American favorite - and for a reason. There are no strong flavors, but there are not supposed to be. Beers like this are the stuff of American social lubricants. Not amazing, not terrible, just inexpensive good fun.

It has a slight distinct taste from other macro lagers out there. Overall, for what it is, it's pretty good. Doesn't taste or smell skunky like other macros out there. Maybe not the best macro lager but not bad either. Taste is good, but mouth feel could be better. Overall worth a try if you're into macro lagers

I think I'M the most interesting man in the world. I don't often drink adjunct lagers, but when I do, I definitely do NOT prefer Dos Equis. This beer is not even close to being interesting, so don't stay thirsty my friends for this beer. Save your money and buy a better and lower priced AAL, my friends.

Extremely pale golden brew, with a decent white foamy head with good retention. Brew looks a little sickly, which isn't helped by being served in a frosted mug.

Aroma is overly sweet and malty; a touch of grass and corn.

Incredibly sweet (in a sickly way) flavor, with little beyond corn, rice, and pale malt. Really the bottom of the barrel for AALs.

Nice lively mouthfeel, but with a sickly, oily aftertaste and (thankfully, in this case) short finish.

I had mild hopes for this one, but it ended up being one of the worst AALs - and beers overall - I've ever had.

Drunk from a 355 mL can (stamped "210715") while at Hyatt Ziva in Puerto Vallarta. Light flavored with basic grainy malt body, cooked corn and mild hop spice and bitterness. Light to medium body and decent carbonation. Another drinkable lager, great for sun and beach, but nothing special.

Brilliant straw color. Generous foamy 2 finger white head, lasting 2 -3 minutes, strong legs and high activity.

Faint flavors and aromas of corn, saaz, citrus, with slight skunky and metallic smell.
Sharp with hints of sugar and a smoky feel.

Light body with excessive prickly carbonation. Faint and short finish on the bitter end with a lemony aftertaste.

Overall : Poor flavors, too watery, and a little stale.

When you go to a mexican restaurant and the waiter tells you that they have dos equis, be sure its "ambar" (amber) or better drink something else. This is a very plain beer, adjuncts are present in aroma and taste.

pours what you kind of expect an adjunct lager to pour. with this being said it definitely leads the pack in this category. Personally not a fan of beers that requires something like a lime to be drinkable.

This is a decent lager. I can't say anything bad about it. If you're biased towards to Mexican beer, such as Corona, make sure to leave that aside. This beer has a bad rep, but it sits well, and is good for having on the deck in the summer. That being said, there are many more better choices.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, there was no date on bottle that I could find.

APPEARANCE: Pours a clear light yellow color with less than one-finger white head that dissipated in less than one minute until there was just a ring of small bubbles around the edge of glass, minimal lacing, less than average carbonation, there were suspended bits of something floating about, this is not appropriate for the style.

SMELL: corn, grass and bread.

TASTE: there is very little sweetness from the malt up front, then the taste of corn, some grass and a mild hop bite.

PALATE: less than average carbonation for the style, medium body, a little watery.

OVERALL: This would barely pass as a lawnmower beer but, there are better choices even for that. I would never willingly consume this beer again. We seriously need to rethink NAFTA.

I don't hear too many positive reviews about Mexican beers, but I kinda like them. I can't imagine eating a nice Mexican dinner with a Heineken. Dos Equis is the perfect brew for that occasion. It's light and has just the right amount of that South O' the border maltiness. A twist of lime and you are set. Enjoy.

Pale yellow in color with a significant but fleeting head that retreats to minimal lacing. Smell and taste have some malt but adjuncts are clearly present. The mouth feel is a bit thin and the finish almost non-existent. I wouldn't turn one down, but Dos Equis Amber is a much better choice if both are available.

Type: 12-oz. bottle
Glass: Manzanita pint glass
From: Barons Market in Alpine, Calif.
Price: $1.39
Purchased: Oct. 22, 2014
Consumed: Oct. 22, 2014
Misc.: N/A

Poured a golden, pale, clear color with a finger of head that dissipated pretty quickly. Lots of streams of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. No lacing on the sides of the glass. No retention on the top. (Sight - 2.50)

Smelled honey, caramel, toffee and very light chocolate, a lot more maltier and better than I thought it would. Also grassy malts, light plum and skunky resin notes late. For the style, just a great smell. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted more like I was expecting, which was much worse than the smell. Hardly any flavor. Honey, grass, corn, light metallic, light caramel and watery cereal. (Taste - 2.25)

Light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, watery finish. (Feel - 2.25)

I’ve had this many times, but never rated it. The smell was really good for an AAL, but then it all went to hell. I won’t have this again unless I have a gun to my head. Even then I’d have to think about it. (Overall - 2.25)

You know? As far as mainstream lagers go, I like it. It has a pleasant, almost sweet flavor and I can drink it all night if I want. Good for parties and large gatherings with a lot of non-craft beer people.

Another watery, tasteless pale lager. Not much going for this lager, except that it was cold and wet. Very little in the way of flavor or aroma, typical cereal grain body and overall watery palate. Beer flavored water,,,,,
