Pours clear golden straw in color. The head is white with moderate retention and leaves a bit a patchy lacing. There is a lot of visible carbonation.
There are lots or cheap grains in the nose with a metallic twang and a hint of lemon sourness.
The taste is grainy with little to no offensive metallic taste. It tastes better than it smells.
Light and crisp with refreshing carbonation. Easy to drink.

A little better than some others in the same category.

Appearance - The beer pours a golden color with a small white fizzy head. The head fades fast leaving just traces of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell - The aroma is stongest of some corn and a bit of caramel. Along with these aromas comes some light grass and a bit of a grainy smell.
Taste - The taste begins with a somewhat sweet but more bready taste of some caramel, corn, and grain. As the taste advances some light hop flavors of grass come to the tongue. In the end, one is left with a rather easy drinking and slightly sweeter taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel - The body of the beer is rather light with a carbonation level that is rather high. For the style and the lighter nature of the brew the feel is great and makes for a easy drinking brew.
Overall - This is a rather decent brew overall. WhIle not a flavor powerhouse the brew is rather easy to drink. Not bad.

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a pokal glass

This beer pours a brilliant golden color. It is topped with two inches of large bubbled head that settles to a skim on top. The head leaves spotty lacing.

The smell is light grain. It doesn't smell as sweet as some adjuncts.

The taste is mild and vegetal. I get some cooked corn flavor. There is enough hops to keep it from being too sweet from the malt.

Thin mouthfeel

This is a clean, easy drinking lager. As far as Mexican adjuncts lagers go this one is at the top of the list.

24 ounce can into lager glass, best before 8/2018. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and mild herbal/grassy earthiness. A bit too fruity aromas, but not overwhelming. Okay aromas with pale malt/corn and mild earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and mild herbal/grassy earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and mild herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness of pale malt/corn and mild earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. A bit thin, but not watery finish. Nicely clean on lager flavors, not too fruity. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a decent pale adjunct lager. Nice robustness of pale malt/corn and mild earthy hop flavors; nicely smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful for the low ABV. A little too heavy on the corn sweetness, but this is an enjoyable offering.

Man you fuckboi's shitting on this style. Eat dick. I've brewed for years! It's hard to make a light legit lager that's true to Mexican palates. As much as I hate corp beer, I respect the hell out of them to provide light and consistent beers.

There is a thin head and an attractive light copper color. A light, sweetend hop aroma is present, but very faint. Flavor is light and what little hop and grain taste there is gets tarnished by a metallic twang. As the beer warmed, the twang grew worse.

Poured from a 24 oz. can an opaque golden color with a large bubble constructed white head that slowly crackled its way down to nada. Tons of clearly visible carbonation bubbles racing to the surface and cling for dear life to the side of the glass.

Smell was light on corn and grains. A faint hint of the typical Mexican beer smell. Really hits the nose with just a light whiff rather than a punch of any one thing.

Taste was almost tasteless. A bit of grains and maybe a hint of corniness. The taste seriously barely tastes like a beer! Dude who stole my beer! Or maybe, Dude who poured water in my beer!

Mouth feel is flat with a bit of wet finish. Strangely the carbonation does not even make its presence known. Barely above flat at that.

Overall I prefer a bit more to my beer. Coors light, Miller Lite and lots of others would overpower this in taste. Easily drinkable, definitely. Enjoyable? Well on a hot ass day and ice cold if you want alcohol with your water this works. This comes from the guys (and gals) that make Tecate. Take that over this any day.

Poured from a clear 12oz bottle into glass. Purchased from a Total Wine's imported beer singles section. I pulled the bottle from the back of the row, which was on a middle shelf. Better I thought than picking a bottle from the front of the row, where the bottle would be more apt to be exposed to light.
Clear, gold colored body. One finger white head dissipates to isolated island and very thin ring. There is actually lacing left from each sip.
The beer does not smell skunky, which is fortuitous. Very thin aroma of corn adjunct and grass.
Taste is also thin, with grain malt and a fruity sweetness coming through.
Mouth feel is thin, but refreshing.
This is a beer that I looked forward to drink during the summers of the late 1970's, before Corona was imported. After Corona became such a hit, it seemed that Sol disappeared from distribution. With international ownership, I have noticed that Sol has been back on the shelves for the past few years, but there was never a reason to drink it again because of all the craft selections available. So this is kind of a nostalgia trip to the days of AAL's, without the temptation of craft (or micro as it was called back in the 1980's). I remember Sol as a summer beer to drink very, very cold. I think it still serves that role.

Surprisingly refreshing. It reminds me of Rolling Rock except it has a fruity finish. I'll definitely be picking this up again soon.

This came inside the free mini bar at my all inclusive hotel room in Cancun. My curiosity finally got the better of me.
Pours a clear dark piss color with a tiny wisp of bubbles that immediately dissipate.
A not too appealing metallic aroma eventually makes way for a light grain and canned corn sweetness. I also get rice adjunct and a light whiff of grass.
Slightly astringent taste of grain along with sweetness from the corn adjuncts makes a curious combination. A very light touch of hops reminds you that it is beer. Beyond that, the primary flavor seems to be water.
Light bodied and crisp at first, however, the spritzy carbonation dies out midway, affecting the crispness and drinkability. Wet mouthfeel and finish; it could have benefited from dryness. Weird sour milk aftertaste. A metallic feel throughout is another detriment.
This was not good.
