Bohemia Oscura is a Vienna type beer. It offers the perfect balance of caramel and toasted malts that give off notes from walnut and coffee.

Bohemia is marketed as the premium product line of Cuauhtémoc-Moctezuma brewery.
While the Clara ('pilsner') is actually good, to me the Oscura tastes too much of artificial chocolate, almost like Hershey's Syrup but without the aroma.
I perceive it as an over-industrialized effort to sell it as 'exotic' or 'gourmet' to people that don't expect much or know much about beer but want to try something fancier that average mexican macros.

L: Light yellow, weak foam

S: Light smell of malt, hint of coffee

T: Malty with medium carbonation. Hint of nuts and caramel on the aftertaste.

O: I prefer the Bohemia Clásica, but great tasting beer nonetheless. Top shelf of Mexican Beers for sure

Bohemia "Vienna" bottle in Mexico in August, 2022. This is a handsome beer that I expected to be in the same quality league as the "Pilsener" I had already sampled. I was disappointed; I think this beer is below the standard set by Bohemia Pilsener. It could just be a variation on XX amber (both made by Heineken). It reminds me of some OK ambers including Yuengling Lager.

Drunk during my trip to Silao (Guanajuato). Usual Mexican bottle.

Look: Pours copper orange colour with a small white head and very little lacing on the glass.

Smell: Cereal malts smell, a touch of apple and caramel, also some toasty bread.

Taste: Toasty bread, sweet caramel malts, a touch of apple, a lighter floral hop.

Feel: Smooth and easy drinking.

Overall: a good brew.
