Not the easiest beer to find in Mexico but worth the purchase as it rivals Negro Modelo as one of the best macros from here. Malty and well finished with a nice mouthfeel this is a great beer with food .

Got a chocolatey taste in there which leads me to believe this was not intended as a Vienna lager. Enjoyable on a rainy day in Cozumel though.

Bottle at Amaité Cafe, Puebla, Mexico

A: The beer is clear amber in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with thin off white head that died down, leaving a collar of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of dark malts are present in the smell.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of dark Malts and hints of malt extracts.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and has s moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and is very light in body compared to other beers in the style.

Poured from a 12oz bottle (best by date 26Oct15) into a pilsner glass.
LOOK: Pours with a finger and a half worth of khaki foam that dissipates into a line after 1 minute. Copper in color. Rising bubbles are medium-sized and are high in quantity. There is an abundance of tiny, white particles floating in the brew. Lacing is thin and moderate, but stays on the glass.
SMELL: Doesn't have a strong smell. There are subtle aromas of caramel malts and sweet bready malts.
TASTE: Mild caramel malt and sweet bready malt flavors enter initially. Subtle spicy hops and pale malts along with hints of bitter hops enter immidieately after as caramel flavors continue, but sweet bready malt flavors grow stronger.
FEEL: Full-bodied and moderately carbonated. Goes down smooth and finishes with a subtle dryness.
NOTE: This was too good to come from Mexico.

While living in Mexico a long time ago, Bohemia was one of my favorites, though I am not sure whether they had this Obscura version at the time.
Brown caramel color with a thick beige head with a relatively short retention and leaving laces.
Creamy light aroma with notes of caramel, nuts, milky chocolate and raisins.
Flavor with notes of chocolate, toasted malts, prunes, coconut, tea, hazelnut and minerals. Dry aftertaste with a mild bitterness.
Light body with good carbonation.
Nice surprise from a mass company. Good Vienna Lager, it is not just caramel notes, it carries the demanded complexity for that style. Still it is somewhat bland but very pleasant and sessionable.
