Carta Blanca Light is a classic light pilsner from mexican macro Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma. It is the light version of its brother carta blanca regular.
Color: Very Pale yellow with little head formation and little lace retention.
Aroma: Aromas of malts and hops almost lost but found at the end in a very small amount.
Taste: Semi-dry malts, corn, cereal, little hop bitterness, metallic.
Finish: Dry and with a little bitter and metallic aftertaste.

I always hated the Carta Blanca, so, before i tasted this one, because is a Carta Blanca and light, i thought its the worst beer...
The taste is smooth and fizzy, with a bittersweet end (a lot better than regular carta blanca).
The appearance is bad, with an ugly pale yellow and a little foam that disappears quickly.
The smell is evil, like aluminum and mineral water; there's no body and the drinkability is bad too.

In a "bautizo" i try this beer and i´m not impressed; this beer i dont got much time in the market; corona light is over this beer;
try with sea food and guacamole; 40% recommended.

Just what we all needed: Another light beer.
There's not too much I can say about this standard yellow fizzy, tiny headed and no lacing beer. It has a faint grainy smell, just as a light brew is supposed to have. Taste is weak, mild; at least there are no perceptible adjuncts. Mouthfeel is, no surprise here, watery.
In a hot Mexican afternoon barbecue it's a winner.
If you all bear with me, I can add that a brother-in-law and yours truly "invented" this beer some 15 years ago:
We were in a wedding, where the beer provider delivery system failed miserably. All the guests were asking for a cold drink and Carta Blanca bottles were lukewarm --to say the less.
So, my in-law and I came up with the idea of serving the beer in plastic cups with ice inside.
Not everybody liked it, I have to admit, but some were thankful and dubbed the drink as "Carta Blanca Light".
:-)
¡Salud!
