Has vaguely heard of Bohemia beers, but the Gellar’s left it with a bunch of others after my daughter’s fourth birthday party. Beer Advocate calls it a German Pilsner. Going with that. Not expecting much.

Poured a light yellow clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass as expected. Decent watery foamy lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled usual notes of grass, hay, sweet corn, wheat, honey, cereal and bread. Really good though, true to the style. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted not nearly as good as the smell, but still decent. Got hay, corn, honey wheat, grass, cereal, sourdough bread and spoiled grapes. There was also a slight peppery spice lingering on the palate. (Taste - 3.25)

Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Abrupt, slightly spicy finish. (Feel – 3.25)

Wow, I was scared early on that this was going to be good. It was not, but it was decent. (Overall - 3.25)

I went into it with low expectations and was very pleasantly surprised! Pours clear bright yellow with a thin head that dissipates fast. I couldn't get much of a head on a fairly aggressive pour. Aroma is subtle and not unpleasant, mild hops and distant corn and fermented grains. The taste was surprisingly good with a balance of bready biscuity malt and hops, with some grain and milled corn in there for sure but nothing unpleasant. Mouthfeel is light bodied but not watery, with medium carbonation. Finished clean and dry. Overall a very drinkable beer.

Viva! An adjunct with aspirations.

Tops of my picks of Mexican AALs. Oh, it pales in comparison to it's European ancestors but at least it makes an effort. Malt, hops forward, medium body, good color, good texture, lots to recommend it. Still an AAL, but something I can serve friends who know something about beer.

If you have a choice of those brewed South of the River this is the one to choose.

My favorite beer from Mexico. Hops are up front. Feels good on the tongue, not slick like other Mexican beers. My only beef is that there is a slight corn funk to it that if you don't think about it, it won't appear, it's kind of fleeting. Overall a very good beer.

12 oz fancy bottle (revisited in Oct. 2015).
Not fancy beer. Instead, what we have here is a below average pilsner style beer with mild aroma and flavor.
Certainly more interesting and flavorful than, say, Corona Light, but the blend of earthy hops, light malts (and corn?), is not the best combo.

Medium-light body with relatively soft, medium carbonation.

This is a very good beer, i like it. When I don´t have any craft and it´s late i can go to the mini super and get some bohemias. This is not an american adjunct lager anymore, it was changed to a pilsner like beer with german hops.

Cant believe i haven't rated this one yet.
In my opinion a good Mexican lager and one i always order in Mexican restaurants.
Its clean, has some taste..a bit of hop and seems to be all malt.
Good food beer.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: pours a 1" frothy white head that rapidly recedes with some mild lacing. Color is clear light gold with moderate streaming bubbles.

Aroma: fairly mild, but pickup some yeast, biscuit, and a bit of herbal hops.

Mouthfeel: light to medium bodied, somewhat oily with a quite dry finish.

Flavor: biscuit and cracker, a bit of fruit and lemon in the finish.

Overall: enjoyable and well made to the style. Nothing off-putting.

Clear pale gold with two fingers of three minute head that leaves some pretty fair lace.
Smell is bready malts with some grassy or herbal hops. If there is corn here it was used sparingly. Taste is sweet malts with a nice kick of noble hop character to balance.
Mouthfeel is medium for the style. Carbonation is fairly high. Finish is lightly dry with a minor bitterness from the hops. Overall a very nice Mexican AAL. I would gladly drink this with a spicy Mexican meal.

A: Pours a crystal clear pale to medium yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and some faint golden yellow highlights. The beer has a half finger tall sudsy white head that slowly reduces to a small patch of thin film and a very thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light aromas of sweet malts with a light amount of corn adjuncts.

T: Upfront there is a moderate amount of sweet malty flavor - light amounts of bready malts combined with moderate amounts of sweet grainy malts and corn adjuncts. Just a hint of grassy hops in the finish which impart a touch of bitterness which fades almost instantly.

M: Light bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation.

O: Pretty flavorful for the style (AAL) and easy to drink. Refreshing with spicy Mexican or slightly salty Italian foods.

I'm not sure if this is a different beer than which is just listed as Bohemia (sans Clasica) and has a slightly different ABV? Some digging on Google suggests that there is a difference between Bohemia and Bohemia Clasica. Is Clasica just the most current version of Bohemia, or is it an import version or even a light version?

Bohemia Clasica. Label clearly states "ALC 4.7% BY VOL" along with "GOLDEN PILSNER." Imported from Mexico.

12 ounce bottle from a 12-pack poured into a pint glass.

A: Less than a one finger off-white head from a moderate pour. Head dies quickly and reduces to a thin ring that lasts the entire glass. Just a hint of patchy foam in the middle from the constant stream of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Color is a vibrant gold and appealing. Bohemia Clasica has a small amount of floaties if you hold your glass up to the light. Overall I'm reminded of a Miller product.

S: Sweet with toasted grains. Hops provide a familiar floral scent that I often find in Mexican (and Canadian) lagers. A little bit of pine and a lot of metallic. Much more balanced than I expected. Pretty impressive smell for what this is.

T: Starts sweet. It then goes abruptly, surprisingly, and even somewhat harshly as the beer warms, bitter. The pine in the nose just barely (I think) shows-up here but the floral taste is noticeable. Not much to the malt other than the sweetness and a light toasted flavor. Bohemia Clasica finishes with a touch of honey sweetness which I really enjoy. The bitterness doesn't hang around. Letting this beer warm-up really allows for more flavor to show.

M: Good medium to medium-high carbonation that is enough to sting the tongue. The carbonation provides some creaminess. Rolling this beer around in your mouth reveals a slickness along with some density but overall this is a little too watery.

O: Bohemia Clasica is far more complex than I expected. I can see a few of these going great with the right food. For a Mexican lager I'll stick to what tastes best (Negra Modelo) or what I can drink enjoyably and mindlessly (Pacifico.)

Probably enjoyed at some Mexican restaurant somewhere, paired with Mexican food. Not much to this lager, not much at all. Watery, weak and flat tasting. Lump this in with the American mass market lagers...

Poured a darker shade of straw with plenty of carbonation pushing through the body. The head mounted quickly and tall and ebbed away every bit as quick.

The aroma is for the most part nothing. I struggled to find any real odor and when I did it was far from the typical adjunct as it was more grainy.

The flavor followed the grain notes as it trended towards barley malt. The flavor and feel is very crisp, very light with a watery follow through.

The packaging is superb, with the foiled top and Clasica name but when it came right down to it it resembles nearly all other Mexican beers.

Pours a clear, golden color with about two fingers of white foamy head that quickly settles down.
The basic malty and grainy aroma is easily picked up by the nose.
The taste follows the nose. Initially sweet, followed by a balanced body, finishing with a little bitterness.
Nice and drinkable, but nothing special.

Half finger of head at best. Clear, light straw colored body.
Smell of honey and grain. Kind of nice.
The typical "no flavor" at first, mild sweet then dry bitterness to end.
Medium body with moderate carbonation. Fairly crisp texture.
It carries more flavor than most in the adjunct lager style, but still not that enjoyable.

According to the foil capping on the bottle, this is the "Frida Kahlo Edicion Especial," although I doubt there is any significant difference besides the packaging. The beer was poured into a tumbler pint, and it is a bright, vibrant, orange-yellow coloring with a steady flow of carbonation bubbling and no trace of head. Aromas are light, with a roasty, toasty backbone and some floral highlights. Flavors are tangy sweet, with a jasmine kick to the toasted grain backbone and slight roasted corn blending. Surprisingly, the beer's body actually has some substance to it, with a smoothness that makes it very easy to drink. Slightly musty aftertaste, and the increased carbonation leads to a slightly sharp, almost astringent finish that leaves the palate clean.

Reviewed from notes.

Pours out a transparent golden straw color with a minimal foam collar for a head, no real lacing. Smells faintly of generic graininess and some cooked sweet corn adjunct, tastes of the same as well. Body is on the thinner watery side but at least it is smooth and refreshing. Really not all that much superior to BMCs.

The ray of sunshine, I used to think, at most Mexican restaurants. Light amber in the glass, with a pale malty flavor and a splash of bitterness. Overall a rather delicate pislener. Pleasant hoppy bite. Very light and watery body. Hardly a trace of malty sweetness. Toasty flavor and not much else.

I've never seen this on tap, but I wonder if it would be a good addition to the Mexican brews. I used to say this was my favorite Mexican beer, but it doesn't taste like much. Still, it's so much less offensive than the commonly available competition, from Corona to Negra Modelo.

Review from notes.

A: Pours a straw/golden color, very clear, with a one finger foamy white head with no retention or lacing.

S: Not much going on, slight sweetness and a little bit of grainy malt.

T: Similarly weak. Slight sweet flavor, not much in the way of hops though.

M: Light bodied and thin. Medium carbonation.

O: The worst Bohemia beer I have had so far. Usually their beers are pretty good, but this one was just boring.

A: Thin yellow, barely a head and carbonated like a semi weak soda.

S: Heavy peach syrup, but the yeast lightens it.

T: Light and slightly peachy. Similar to sun tea. Very mild, kinda watery.

M: Slight sting, otherwise very tea like.

O: I've had better ones. The flavor is nice but super super mild.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours clear golden, no foam, none left. No discernable smell - maybe straw. Light watery taste, clean. Hopless (not hopeless). No finish, just ends. Very minor carbonation. Good for biting into spicy Mexican food, or maybe on a hot summer day. Otherwise, not much else going on.

Poured from 12oz. bottle into a standard pint glass.
Pale gold in color, with a moderate white head of foam.
Aroma-Faint sweet malt.
Taste-Faint cracker malt, slight creaminess in the mouthfeel. Very clean finish. A step above BMC "popular" brews. I wouldn't mind knocking back a few of these on a warm day with a plate of tacos. Properly chilled of course.

12 oz bottle poured into a weizen glass -

A - pours a light straw/golden color and is transparent. Has a thin, 2 finger white head with poor retention. No lacing to speak of.

S - cereal grains and a typical adjunct aroma. Some sweetness and no hops aromas. Very mild in strength.

T - Weak malty taste with some adjunct (corn?) And not a whole lot else to speak of. No hops bitterness and watery.

M - light-bodied and smooth with an adequately dry finish.

D - not bad for the style, but that ain't saying much.

This was your typical Mexican beer. I wasn't impressed or disappointed. It's light but slightly bitter on the back of the tongue. I'm not sure what else to say about it. I prefer Dos XX over this one. Perhaps it would be better if complemented by a lime.

I'll admit it. I pretty much bought this only because the bottle looked cool. Anyway...

Pours a golden yellow. Slightly hazy for a lager. No head at all. Aromas of caramel and grain. Slight fruity notes too.

Doesn't taste too good. Tastes slightly sweet with a little bit of citrus. Also sort of a harsh grainy taste too. Has a sort of lingering bitterness that coats the entire mouth almost giving it a bad aftertaste of sorts.

Overall, I think I will just pass on this and have kool-aid or something.
