bought this one on sale at a liquor store
poured from the 12 oz bottle into my new belgium goblet:

a pours dark - darker than I expected.
just a bit of head that settles TOO quick and leaves slim to none on the lacing

s not much - really kinda BLANK to the nose

t not much think Mexican macro

m
standard- thin body

d
by the dozen
not actively BAD in any way , but truly missing any GOOD parts either, IMHO.
again, in the words of RUFUS the Stunt Bum:
"You call that a beer? I'd rather have another!"

Brought back from Mexico by a friend.

Nice light auburn coloration, it pours with a decent amount of foam. Faint lace rings the glass. Mild aroma of grainy sweetness. Not offensive, however not enticing.

Flavor is primarily malt with a slight hop finish. It has a buttery sort of mouthfeel, with a grainy aftertaste. Body is light yet still malty, good if you want to have several. It's pretty agreeable overall, probably best with a meal.

This is a beer that you have when there is nothing else left around, sadly there are worst beers in Mexico. It falls short in flavor and smell for the style.

I had this last night at dinner in Reynosa Mexico. I didn't know it was a marzen until I saw it just now on BA, but I guess that description fits this beer ok.

I poured the beer into a frosted mug. The beer had a burnt copper color with a thick off-white foam. Pretty transparent with no floaties.

The aroma was not too strong, just a little malty. Really there was only a mild hop bitterness in the after-taste also. Not as flavorful as I'd prefer.

Not something I'd go for too often, but not bad when the alternative is Bud, Coors, Corona, etc.

Over all ok beer. Tasted from a bottle and it wasn't to pleasant at first. Then after you get over the bottle taste the beer actually tasted ok. Also poured in to a glass, 1/2 in head that quickly disappears. Poor to no lacing. Tasted better in the glass.

12 oz bottle with incomprehensible date stamp. Served in a pint glass. Amber color, vigorous pour yields one finger of anemic tan head which quickly fades. Good clarity. Bready nose, doughy, hints of caramel and toasted malts. In the mouth, it's bready with a weak hop character. Water, flat-ish, possibly I got an older bottle but impossible to tell from incomprehensible "date" stamp. Overall: Flat, borderline artifical flavor, fairly drinkable. Was somewhat surprised to discover that this was a Marzen as the label gives no indication. A very low-average representation of style as I received this particular sample.

I give this beer a low grade because it tastes kind of good, not awful, but it gives you a terrible hangover, I think they use a lot of adjuncts to achieve taste and they are bad for you.

Indio surprised me by pouring out of the can, not the conventional near colourless yellow, but instead a reasonably handsome amber-brown displaying all kinds of flashy auburn and chestnut highlights. You'd assume it gets that colour from specialty malts and hence will have a richer, toastier aroma. Alas, it evidently didn't get it from the grain...

The brewery advertises this as "authentically Mexican" because it uses "indigenous" ingredients like corn. It's absolutely true that maize was the most important food of native Mexican societies and also at the center of their cultural and economic livelihoods but in the modern context... common! That sounds to me like the punchline to a beer geek joke.

You know which other mass-produced beers use corn? ALL OF THEM! If this is the criteria on which we're judging integrity then Corona, Tecate and Sol have the market cornered. Funny that those beers - which totally reek of corn syrup and are cloyingly sweet - deny any use of it whereas Indio proudly boasts of it even though, frankly, the adjunct really isn't that noticeable.

That said, this is decidedly a Mexican amber lager - not a German one. Naturally, it has a shallow, watery, sweet malt extract taste (and nothing that convincingly resembles crunchy bread crusts or toasted nuts). Mind you, what little extra bit of flavour is afforded makes it a bit more quaffable than the truly wretched yellow lagers like those mentioned above.

Still, despite the caramel colouring, Indio is yet another in a long line of insipid, indistinctive Mexican lagers. While Cervecería Moctezuma (makers of Dos Equis and Bohemia) clearly intended for it offer a little more character than its standard brands, the irony is that this one, with its syrupy cola-like flavour, is probably better suited to a lime wedge than any of the others.

most mexican beers or cervezas if you will, are all basically the same to me: not too bad but also not very good. this one falls right in line with the rest of them.

Picked up a bottle in Mexico City.
Really odd 1970's space future pyramid lego. Like a Disney ride logo in Tomorrowland.

Amber-ish clear color, no head.
Nose is grainy malt. Maybe some slight hops.

Taste is metallic malts, again a tiny hint of hops. Tastes mostly like a macro lager. Not much there.

Pass.

A beer from my country originally called "cerveza cuauhtemoc" and his logo includes an aztec indian "cuauhtemoc" in 3/4 view, people went recognizing it with the alias of INDIO, then the brewery choose to put the name of indio to this beer; sold commonly in my city, this beer is drink in the most of weddings, familiar celebrations, its dark amber color and its hops and bitterness smell and flavor, make this beer one of the most prefered beers on my country; good for mexican food; 100% recommended.
