I give this beer a low grade because it tastes kind of good, not awful, but it gives you a terrible hangover, I think they use a lot of adjuncts to achieve taste and they are bad for you.

Despite its official designation as a Marzen, this does not come close to the real German thing and drinks a lot more like an American Adjunct Lager. Very little flavor with a flat finish. But overall, for what it is - a cheap beer and a Mexican equivalent to PBR, it does the job.

Bottle sampled in Cabo San Lucas, poured into an ice cold mug. I let it warm up a tad before sampling. A light rusty red with a finger of foamy quick-breaking beige head. Interesting style designation and I would not have pegged this as such, although sure, there is a more robust malt aroma than one typically finds in Mexican lagers ... Some vaguely nutty toffee and brown bread, along with some non-descript fruit notes. Palate is low-key caramel with minimal corn flavor, a few spritely sour candy and citrus notes winking in and out. A ghost of molasses. Body on the thin side and the carbonation is amped up too high. Somewhat buttery. Dry finish with some woody notes. Mellow and subtle flavor, not bad but underwhelming. Does remind me of a few macrobrewed German O-fests, now that I think about it.

A nice ruby colour that produces a finger thick head that dissipates quickly and has only a light carbonation. There was actually very little on the nose, it is possible that it was served too cold, but a light malty caramel flavour came out in the mouth. Very quick finish. It was actually fairly refreshing drink on the beach.

This is a beer that you have when there is nothing else left around, sadly there are worst beers in Mexico. It falls short in flavor and smell for the style.

In my humble opinion one, if not the best mass-produced Mexican beer around! The head is a finger thick, and fades a few minutes after pouring. Smells of sweet malt, wood aromas and faint molasses. The beer color is darker than the average Oktoberfest beers, it is a beautiful reddish amber color. The flavor is much morw milder than what you would expect, based on the color: sweet yeast and some licorice and faint raisin flavors.
