Born on the western bicultural borderland of Baja California, Mexico, Tecate® was originally created in 1944 to be the perfect thirst quencher for the miners working in the area. We are still proudly brewed in our namesake town of Tecate, using the same high quality recipe. Tecate® Original is a full-bodied lager with a refreshing crisp malt flavor and a pleasant aftertaste – the way a Mexican cerveza should be.

A fairly good Mexican Macro Lager, with a Bit more Flavor then Most other Mexican Adjunct Lagers,I have always Liked a lot of Mexican Lagers because of their smoothness, they may not have tons of flavor, and can taste a Bit watered down @ times, but Generaly speaking,I will pick a Mexican Macro Lager Over an American Macro Lager any day of the week,Tecate may not be a Great beer, but for it's style,it is a "Good" Beer, and it is Priced right too, a 12ver cost about 10 Bucks,so it is much Cheaper then Sol or Corona, and as far as Flavor goes,Tecate has em both beat hands down,it may not be quite as Smooth as Sol or Corona, but trust me,Tecate still slides down super Fast!~
Tecate pretty much looks like most other Macro Lagers when poured,a straw yellow to semi golden color, pretty light looking,as with most Macro lagers,Not much Head to speak of,but what there is of it is fluffy white~
the aroma is pretty standard also,Grainy,Grassy,a little malty, nothing special.
where Tecate really stands out over most other Mexican OR American Mass produced Macro lagers,is it's Taste, you get the standard Grainy, light Malty flavor, but you also get a Little Hops in the Finish, overall,I enjoy this Beer quite a Bit.
I love my Craft Beers, and have no problem Paying for Quality Beer,I really enjoy a well Crafted beer with tons of Flavor,a Rocky head that last the whole beer, world class Lacing,Drinking Fine quality beer can be a wonderful Experience to say the least,But when you just want an Ice cold Beer on a Hot day,Tecate is a really nice choice,it is also a fantastic beer to take to a BBQ,Because you know damn well there will more than Likley be nothing besides light beer in all those coolers..yuck!hehe;)
Cheers & Peace2All.

This is a surprisingly decent macro.

Look: Shity light yellow.
Smell: Wow, I am very impressed by this herby/floral scent I’m getting.
Taste: Good enough for beer flavored beer.
Feel: Extremely thin. I could piss a beer with more of a body (and probably higher ABV) than this one.
Overall: This isn’t a world class beer but it’s one of the better ones you’ll find at your average mini-mart. Sure, I’d buy this beer again as it’s REALLY poundable and dirt cheap.

Decided to try a new “Mexican” lager when we went out to eat and this one was on sale.
The waitress brought me a 12 oz can, a lime slice and a 10 oz frosted mug. Hmmm.
I sucked on the lime after a few sips to see if it did anything for the flavor. Nope.
Any way- poured hay yellow with an off white head which leaves decent lacing.
Aroma still isn’t available to me.
The taste reminds me of a decent Pilsner at first, until I realized that the cracker tastes were actually corn flavors.
That said, it went well with the tortilla chips that were on the table.
The feel was good, eminently quaffable and if not ice cold, probably slammable.
OA, maybe only when eating tortilla chips this is good, but that’s not nothing.

Clear gold, almost immediately headless. Alcohol on the nose, bland flavour. Slightly sharp on the palate from carbonation, but with a watery finish. Light bodied. Uninspired, inoffensive beach-grade sort of stuff. Meh.

Great with some fresh squeezed lime juice, dressed with Tajin seasoning.

It has a standard "beer" flavor, however I think this is the first time I've tried a bubble-less beer. I'm sorry hombres, but at the very least I require bubbles in my brew for enjoyment.

Presentation: 12 ounce can poured into a pint glass

Looks bright golden but clear. Good size head

Smells a bit more malty than the typical adjunct lager. Bit of a floral smell too.

Taste: has a roasted malt and grainy taste. Minor hops taste. Tastes better than I thought it would.

Feels smooth in the mouth. Easy to drink.

Overall this is better then the average Mexican lager. It is also cheaper than the other Mexican beers somehow. I enjoy this beer with food particularly. Very refreshing after a long day at work!

A true sleeper beer. It shapes shifts. Drink from a can and it's a thin mouthful but tasty. Smells like an average macro lager. The recipe is German (they settled Mexico when it came to beer-making) so grains, hops apparent in that smell and taste. Pale mexican lager if you use a glass. It's a full-caloried beer acting like a light beer. I love the taste and there is a clean aftertaste. The only catch is these need to be really cold. The warmer the worse. Yes, on of those beers. I would urge all of you to keep rating it under 2.5 so it will never become cool and always be affordable.
