Poured from a 12 oz. capped bottle (no date) into a pint glass.

A steady pour yields a 1-finger white head that recedes after a few minutes to a thick, clumpy dusting and thin foam ring. The body is a clear straw gold with a great amount of energetic carbonation bubbles. Some light lacing can be seen clinging to the sides of the glass throughout carbonation.

Pale malt and corn adjunct give this beer a sweet, grainy aroma. Notes of wet hay, corn, and biscuit are all noticeable.

Sweet corn malts start each sip with notes of hay, dead grass, and light caramel. As the beer is swallowed, the corn flavor intensifies and is met by flavors of coarse grains. These flavors linger between sips as a sweet, grainy aftertaste.

Light bodied with moderate carbonation, this beer can be gulped as easily as it is sipped. The body is light and playful, allowing the flavors to come through while keeping good drinkability. The carbonation is a bit less fizzy than some other beers in this category, which actually adds to the experience.

Ordered this while in Mexico and I was just disappointed. Not even the setting of being at a beach restaurant in beautiful Yelapa, Jalisco could make this beer good. Taste was just awful, and very reminiscent of what I imagine urine would taste like. Would not drink this one again.

Another undistinguished brew from South of the Border.

I like the packaging more than the beer. Don't know if the name/artwork is Aztec or something but it is interesting. Nothing remarkable about the beer except it's less flavorful than Bud Light.

This is the one you choose when the choice is this or no beer at all.

A good Mexican adjunct light lager. Has decent foamy head, acceptable lacing, tastes like malt, meets a fruity note, with some hop character, has bready notes with a bit of apple notes to finish. A very well made adjunct lager, has a better taste than most of the genre. Is easy to drink when it's hot outside, goes very well with Mexican food, and also quite inexpensive, and a good buy. Overall a 3 score. A favorite hot season beer. A bargain.

A big corn taste is in this beer. It taste like they are trying to mask the corn syrup taste with some actual corn added. It's okay but I think Modelo Especial & Corona Familiar are better. Cheers! C

(24 oz can, BBD OCT 2018... purchased cold... poured into simple glass mug)

L: brilliantly crystal-clear pale amber liquid; bouncy, tight off-white head, holds fairly long

S: fresh dough, juicy apple; hint of flowery hops (if it isn't just esters)

T: lightly-toasted, lightly nutty, doughy-bready malt; bit of green apple in finish... lingering lightly bitter fruit skin (apple) note... flavor clarity is fuzzy, attack clipped

F: feather-soft, delicately foamy-fluffy, dry drop in finish... little tickle from the bubbles... plush foamy texture dominant

O: second in a short 3-beer series of 24 oz can adjunct lager reviews (preceded by Labatt Blue, followed by Sol)... possibly some German helles sensibilities here - first time drinking this from a glass and it's not all that bad

I think this should be the same as Tecate Original. At least, that is the one that I had.
Regardless of the reviews, I like Mexican cerveza for what it is: light, crisp and easy to drink. NOT as craft beer or as something "well crafted." Simply for the feeling.
And this feels quite good to me, although a bit skunky and later on metallic in the aroma, decent enough for a lager, meaning that at least it doesn't have anything bad to the taste. Carbonation is still acceptable.
I won't overrate it but it felt good enough to back it down even on a chilly afternoon in mid January.

24 Oz Can poured into a glass
Look - pale looking, light yellow almost straw colored. Decent foam head is slow to fade with some lacing
Smell - Certainly not bad smelling but typical beer aroma. Pick up the grains, malt, sweetness. Nothing off about it and certainly no bitterness detected.
Taste - One thing about the Mexican beers that i think is similar is that the beer is well made, but not much in the way of flavor. If you like beer this is your beer, it tastes like a house beer at a Mexican restaurant. Not too carbonated, Not too sweet, and no bitterness that i can pick up. There is a lingering note of malty grass but that's about the only thing that stands out to me.
I like it, and i like it more than Corona. This good beer gets a grade of B-

APPEARANCE: Chill haze obscures an otherwise crystal clear, yellow beer. The head foamed up to about a finger before settling into a quarter-inch cap that slowly faded away as the beer sat during the typing of this paragraph. By now, it’s just a wispy, thin cap, but it still covers almost 100% of the surface area. Some lacing developed when the head fell, but not much else stuck.

SMELL: Once the head fades away there isn’t much to this, but while it was still intact a big corn smell overpowered anything else.

TASTE: Again, not much going on in the flavor here. A very sweet, corn-syrup-like taste is pretty much it. There is actually a tiny, tiny hint of hop flavor lurking in here somewhere, but it is tough to detect unless you’re specifically looking for it.

MOUTHFEEL: The body is light (although not as thin as I thought it would be) and the beer is sweet with a slightly drying finish.

OVERALL: This is not the most terrible beer in the world. It’s certainly not something I’ll pay for, but in a pinch, with no craft options, this could be an acceptable choice.

This came with my "Poor Mans Beer Of The Month" gift from my brother..I'll get him back!

Poured...Yeah I gave THIS the dignity of a pour!..a nice clear pale gold and actually had a thin white head that shrank to a collar leaving sparse lace.

Fine aroma of sweet corn and a little hint of mustiness.

Taste initially echoed the smell..Corn, husky musty and sweet but not over the top sweet. Just north of thin mouthfeel with a dry pleasant finish.

Nothing to scream about but makes an ok lawnmowing beer like many other macros do.

A- Straw yellow in appearance with a foamy head and an off white lacing.

S- Grains, wheat, some alcohol.

T- A typical adjunct lager taste, some bitterness to it, a hint of dryness. Not a lot of alcohol taste here, which is a positive.

M- Too irritating in my mouth, hence the presence of carbonation.

D- Average drinkability. I could see having a few of these at a time, likely why they are cheap and inexpensive.

The most remarkable aspect to this beer was the head. Wow, what a rocky, frothy foam. It's quite impressive actually. Most beers this small have the head to match. Apart from that, it's your average yellow Mexican lager. It's refreshing and crisp, but nothing to get excited about.

Poured from 24 oz can into nonic pint glass.

A - Pale yellow, perfectly clear. Half inch of white head recedes quickly to nothing. No lacing.

S - Almost nothing. Wet dog, metallic grain with hint of sweetness. Very faint though.

T - Not too horrible. Not as much grain and corn as I'd expected, but still bland. Hint of sweetness near the end keeps this beer a little interesting, along with a slight metallic hop twinge.

M - On point with the style. Highly carbonated and thin. I gave this another half a point because it actually keeps itself out of the "watery" range.

D - A little boring to drink too many of these, and if I was drunk and reaching for a macro, Tecate probably wouldn't come to mind first. Decent and unoffensive enough though.

From a can. I bought a suitcase at AM/PM as an emergency step when the kegerator ran dry of Mirror Pond.

Not as bad as you have been led to believe. This is the definitive Mexican macrobrew, and it's better than any American macro. Still, a little too much corn and maybe rice.
