A- Love the fact that there isn't a lick of English on the bottle! The brew itself is hazy golden in color that is very much milky from the yeast, once it has been swirled. The head is foamy white in color and texture, and retains well, but what it is, is a thick film over the brew. Carbonation is too hard to see what is happening and as for the lacing, well, it is thick/dense and the foam clings to the side of the glass in a very fashionable way....many small bursts of protein are present!

S- Heavy banana and apricot fruit is noted right up front, with underlying tones of tropical fruits, wheaty grain, rich bread/biscuit, heavy yeast, slightly spicy....of coriander and clove, grassy, and the finish is of muted hop bitterness...overall a very traditional and well balanced aroma for the style!

T- Super heavy banana fruit is present....almost as though I mashed the fruit and added it into the mix...very natural at the same time....there's almost a mango quality to this fruitiness!....there is a dessert like quality to this...apricot/mango/banana surprise!....Wheaty graininess, muted clove and perhaps other baking spice, yeast, bready.....almost melon like, such as cantaloupe. The finish rich and creamy with hints of hops that linger!

M/O- The carbonation is very champagne like and with the fruitiness, this reminds me of a less citrus like mimosa! The texture is somewhat flabby, especially on the finish and the overall body leans towards full....think the fullness and texture of a fine pulpy orange juice and/or nectar like! It a mild tropical blend that is refreshing and flavorful all at the same time, without overpowering the palate. Definite recommend!

500ml bottle, a lingering summer staple only recently made available here in Wild Rose country. The neck label (in German) proclaims "With lots of extra yeast!". How cute.

This beer pours a cloudy, bright medium golden colour, with three fingers of tight, creamy white head, which renders a low wash of painted lace around the glass as it duly recedes.

It smells of semi-sweet, meaty wheat malt, under-ripe banana esters, muted spicy clove, some fruity chewing gum notes, and very mild earthy hops. The taste is more edgy, grainy wheat, banana and citrus fruit salad, savoury and sweet clove and coriander spice, and a mild, musty, dryness - hop-related, I suppose.

The bubbles are quite sedate, the body a decently hefty medium weight, and pretty darned smooth. It finishes sweetly malty, mostly wheaty, and with a nice fading spice and fruit character.

A nicely full, rounded hefeweizen, nothing thin about this one. While not too complex, it isn't overly sweet either, so a few rounds would not be out of the question, even as the seasons conspire against us in that regard.
