Poured a seethru copper brown body with constant one-finger head that sticks around a while. A fig-like malty aroma that is a mix of something like toffee and dark fruits. Beer is medium to heavy bodied with a mild, low bitterness that keeps the sweetness of beer from cloying. Sweetness is a mild sugary sweetness, almost like bitter chocolate, with a dark fruit taste that is almost like figs or raisins. The beer finishes easy and has a rather mild sweetness that stays around during entire beer.

Arcobräu Gräfliches Brauhaus "Coronator"
$9/.5L on tap @ Brauhaus Schmitz, Philadelphia, PA on 2 March 2019

Notes: Clear reddish-brown body with orange and crimson highlights beneath a creamy head of off-white. Average head retention and lacing, at least for a doppelbock. The aroma is malty and caramelish with a hint of raisin. The flavor follows, but richer. I'm finding additional notes of dark bread, toffee, and subtle chocolate. It's sweetish but it's still balanced with a stiff bitterness appearing towards the finish. The alcohol never shows. In the mouth it's medium-full in body and lightly creamy and smooth. Quite nice.

On tap at Brauhaus Schmitz in Philadelphia, PA.

This one pours a dark-ish amber brown, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This one smells like rich port-soaked dark fruit, caramel, toffee, fruity esters, and brown sugar.

This is absolutely delicious. It's got a such a rich malty complexity to it, with just the slightest bit of snappy hop bitterness. There's lots of dark fruit, almost like a good port, with some bittersweet caramel and dark caramelized brown sugar.

This is very creamy, with a chewy body, and a good level of carbonation.

This is dopplebock exactly as it should be.

From the tap at the Craft&Draft in Amsterdam
Clear dark brown, offwhite fluffy head, lacing, thin layer remains
Smell of caramel malts with a fruity component, galia melons, raisins, dark bread
Caramel malts balanced by just the right amount of hop bitterness to make sure you want more and not get saturated by the sweetness.
Full and creamy, very smooth carbonation
Maybe the best Doppelbock I have ever had. Get it if you like the style.

Dark brown, red edges. Not so white foam, average, not too compact.
Definitely malty in the smell, with light caramel.
Well full taste, strong maltiness, not bad.
Malt and caramel, full, yes, but not too much. A light boozy note, ok.
Burnt caramel in the aftertaste, with a bit of hop in the finish. Almost root-like bitterness.
Decent body.
After all, not a bad doppelbock.
