On tap at Brauhaus Schmitz in Philadelphia, PA.

This one pours a dark-ish amber brown, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This one smells like rich port-soaked dark fruit, caramel, toffee, fruity esters, and brown sugar.

This is absolutely delicious. It's got a such a rich malty complexity to it, with just the slightest bit of snappy hop bitterness. There's lots of dark fruit, almost like a good port, with some bittersweet caramel and dark caramelized brown sugar.

This is very creamy, with a chewy body, and a good level of carbonation.

This is dopplebock exactly as it should be.

From the tap at the Craft&Draft in Amsterdam
Clear dark brown, offwhite fluffy head, lacing, thin layer remains
Smell of caramel malts with a fruity component, galia melons, raisins, dark bread
Caramel malts balanced by just the right amount of hop bitterness to make sure you want more and not get saturated by the sweetness.
Full and creamy, very smooth carbonation
Maybe the best Doppelbock I have ever had. Get it if you like the style.

Dark brown, red edges. Not so white foam, average, not too compact.
Definitely malty in the smell, with light caramel.
Well full taste, strong maltiness, not bad.
Malt and caramel, full, yes, but not too much. A light boozy note, ok.
Burnt caramel in the aftertaste, with a bit of hop in the finish. Almost root-like bitterness.
Decent body.
After all, not a bad doppelbock.
