Notes:
A go-to IPA, ready for any occasion. A bright ale with an almost honey color. The aroma is an enticing mixture of citrus and orange peel, with a hint of pine and dank. On the palate there is a slight toffee note from the small amount of English Crystal malt used. The hop profile dominates with tropical fruit, candied orange, and a slight resinous note that lingers.

On tap at Bluecoast Seafood Grille and Raw Bar. Pours a slightly hazy honey-gold with a brief off-white head. Not much lacing. Initial impression is orange, mango, and a hint of pine. Mouthfeel is slick and smooth. Finish fades to slightly bitter orange. Overall, a quite enjoyable IPA.

Taster at brewery. Medium golden, clear, small bubbly head. Light piney, hoppy aroma. Taste is citrusy, oily, resinous. Light on the palate throughout.

Thompson Island Brewing Co. "Thompson Island IPA"
16 fl. oz. can "PACKAGED ON 08/20/21 DRINK LOCAL BEER". Sampled on 09/04/21.
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's got a hazy deep gold/amber colored body beneath a finger's width of white foam. The head retention seems OK; we'll see what the lacing is like later. The aroma is surprisingly hoppy. My first impression suggested Simcoe with its citrusy, passionfruit, pine, and berry notes but there's some orange in there as well. It's resinous and pleasant, and hop lover will not be let down. On to the flavor... well, it's pretty much the same. It's definitely got some orange, guava, resins, grass, soft pine, berry, and lime to it. The malt is fairly basic with just some biscuit and light caramel to it, and that lets the hop flavors come through clearly. Man, I love that resinous aroma! It's like opening a bag of hops, just not quite as strong. The bitterness is median and allows some sweetness from the malt upfront while still becoming dry and bitter in the finish. It's really nicely balanced and rounded. In the mouth it's medium bodied with a crisp carbonation. Unfortunately the lacing that i thought it would have never appeared. There was a little left over from the initial head that was formed but beyond that there was next to nothing. I don't know how it will hold up but sampled fresh it's pretty damned good!

Just a standard IPA, a little cloudy.

Draft is a hazy golden color with a small head. Citrusy aroma with hint of some pine. Tastes like a typical IPA. Nice example, but nothing special or over the top.

Pours a hazy and brassy golden color. A moderate head displays decent retention and swirly lacing.
The nose is evocative of standard and classic IPA aromas. There are citrusy notes of sweet candied oranges interplaying with pithy notes of grapefruit, lemon and lime. Herbaceous aromas of grass and pine develop next.
The palate opens tangy and citrusy balanced against a dry cracker malt backbone. The citrus flavors evoke the bitterness of grapefruit rind and the zesty brightness of lemon and lime. Spicy and peppery hops notes are prominent, as well as notes of grass and sharp pine. Throughout the drink, juicy notes of orange and tangerine pulp open up.
Medium bodied, moderately carbonated and crisp. The finish is also crisp, citrusy and dry.
In this area there is a hospitality group called Sodel Concepts, whose excellent restaurants I’m a fan of. Thompson Island is their brewery and their offerings are available at their restaurants. This is a solidly made IPA overall; very crushable, Very happy to support this business.
