Pours pale gold with a large head that quickly fades into a scum-like layer.
Nose shows loads of sweet vegetal and rice notes, with some faint spicy hops in the background, followed later by some clean malt.
Very little in the way of flavours, there's some cardboardy cereal malt before a short-lived bitterness kicks in.
Carbonation is too high.

Saw this new one and decided to give it a go. Not as bad as I thought it might be after I read that it was a low carb beer. But I might as well be drinking Fosters or Reschs Pilsener - longnecks of these were only $2 at the bottle shop because they aren't going to stock them any more, but the stubby of this was $2.70 or so.

Not a total waste of money, but not great. Poor carbonation and head, but adequate lacing. Smell isn't too bad - more hops than I thought there'd be, but nothing exciting. Taste is also better than I expected - obviously most of the fermentable sugars are gone, which provides a lot of the character, but the hops give it more body than it would otherwise have.

Not the best, not the worst, but unless there's a lot of extremely carb-conscious beer drinkers around, I don't give this one very long before they give up on it.

Pours a bright golden color with white bubbly head that fades away pretty quickly, but laces the glass. Smells .. very faintly .. of nothing. The wife says it smells like bath salts. The taste is like water. Very balanced, the lack of sweetness is precisely offset by the lack of bitterness. Mouthfeel is watery with almost no carbonation, probably why the head didn't hold up. I guess it's drinkable, if you like water.

just what the aussie beer scene was missing. a full-strength, low-carb premium lager. could be my new go-to beer. or not.

the usual hahn label on a 330ml brown bottle. best before 06/07. its a twist off but in my BA tunnel vision mode i used my BA bottle cap remover for full reviewing effect.

pale yellow with decent 1cm white frothy head. lots of lacing, and even more carbonation. plenty of bubbles continuously rising through the beer.

minimal aroma. some floral and light grass notes, but also some apple cider like sweetness. you'd struggle to pick up anything if drinking from the bottle, which is probably the point.

taste leaves much to be desired. dry it is, and with any more alcohol you'd probably feel it burn on the tongue. as it is, well, there just isnt much. same sort of apple fruitiness which seems way out of place since there isnt much else to distract you.

mouthfeel, very light. you hardly know you're drinking it if not for the glass emptying.

drinkability, well, see above.

label says they used munich malt and imported saaz hops. not sure why they bothered as none of it comes through in the finished product.
and a different mash temp to reach a lower FG is hardly an "enhanced brewing process". nice try guys.

Australian Budweiser. Flat taste with a chemical-esque finish. Would not recommend.

It's a slow, slow day when I buy this sort of beer. But in my never-ending quest for variety, occasionally I gotta bite the bullet and review those styles I keep putting off.

Pours a clear golden yellow, lots of bubbling, and a rocky white head that fades fast... I guess that's what you get with dry-low carb beers.

Aromas of green apple, neutral grain, subtle POR hop nose.

Gawd....why did I buy this ? Thin, watery, carbonated. Some very subtle malty profile that vanishes quickly. No hop profile, either flavour or bitterness.

I guess it appeals to someone....but not this little black duck.

Pours a pale golden colour with a good creamy white head, very densely compacted and fed by steady carbonation. Lots of very thick lacing. Looks like a lager should.

Fairly weak hops on the nose, mostly floral with a slight grassy edge. A malt hit, almost caramel malt, but not very well balanced as it's too dominant. No yeast though so it's not unpleasant.

Has a nasty bready character throughout the palate. Has very slight hop characters somewhere on the middle but they are overpowered by this carbolic soda water character which is far too prominent in the flavour. Mouthfeel is as abrasive as rubbing steel wool on your tongue and it has a very offensive bitter hang, the aftertaste is enough to put me off beer.

This seems skillfully crafted as far as ubiquitous macro brews go, but that isn't enough to erase the revolting adjuncts and chemicals that ruin any beer flavour here. A wholly distasteful drop.

This macrobrew is a light golden with minimal cotton-white head. The aroma spews overcooked cauliflower and other adjuncts. The flavor is much in the same ilk---adjunct sweetness along with starchy overtones. Void of bitterness. Super dry? I'm not sure, but definitely a macrobrew.

Pours a deep yellow colour, with just a filmy head of coarse bubbles. No lacing, and extremely filmy. It's a very, very uninspiring looking beer. I'm not enjoying the prospect of taking a sip.

Bit of banana phenols on the nose, but mostly bland. Indeed, it has quite a sweetness on the nose - I was expecting something crisp and dry -- perhaps there's a bit of grass or spice, but it mixes up with the sweetness into something terrible.

Bland, bland, bland on the palate. Clear again, but once again with that sweetness. Overall, it's hard to say anything more than watery, however. Carbonation is a bit too fizzy, leaving it bloating. It's really nothing, but it's not even dry, for a beer which claims as much.

Really quite terrible. It's so bland, but whatever characters it has are pretty awful. It doesn't even deliver what it promises. And I wasn't overly enamoured of that prospect anyway.

On tap while watching hockey. From notes.

A - Poured golden and bright. One finger of fluffy white head. Good carbonation, film of retention and good rings of lace.

S - Sweet grain, grassy hop note. Really mild.

T - Sweet grain, bread, an odd fruit-maybe peach or apple?

M - Good carbonation, light body, dry finish.

O/D - Nothing good to speak of. A pretty plain lager. Avoids corny sweetness of others but otherwise worth avoiding.

Appearance - Usual Oz macro colour with excessive carbonation. 1 finger of very bubbly head which reduced.

Smell - Surprisingly, some of the malty odours I expect in a lager are present, but they are so mild this only deserves a 2 in this category.

Taste - What taste? Like most low carb beers, even most of the pleasant grainy lager flavours have been stripped away in this, leaving only a dry metallic flavour.

Mouthfeel - Like mineral water, but also cloying.

Drinkability - Despite all it's faults, I tend to choose this over Australian brewed Heineken and other similar lagers as a session drink. Not sure why, though.

Overall - Even worse than Pure Blonde. Bleurgh.
