i saw this place right off the side of the highway driving north to cheyenne and didnt recall it being there when i made that trip a few years ago, had to stop on the way back down to denver. its a pretty impressive facility, easy enough access off the highway, pretty large standalone building looks brand new. plenty of parking, food truck out front, opens into a foyer area and then a sprawling beer hall feeling taproom with some long high top tables running the length of it, a big outdoor space off the the left side, and bisected by a bar that could seat a fair few folks, it was completely popping off when i was in on a saturday evening. the ceilings are high, the smell of the mash is in the air, and from the righthand side of the bar where i posted up, the tanks are visible in the back, looks like a decent bit of production capacity, the seem well set up for success, but then i tried the beer. started with a hefe which was so bad i had to leave most of it on the bar, totally off on the ferment, not even close, beyond amateur to downright irresponsible to be serving. they did a little better with a clean saison, still approaching phenolic but it was at least tolerable. maybe i didnt order well, and i was a bit rushed for time anyway, but there was nothing about either of these beers that would make me want to come back here anytime soon. a shame because the space is fun, the service was personable and fantastic, especially for how busy they were, and theres no reason for the beer to not be better. hoping i just ordered the weak links and the rest of it is considerably better, but i was let down by the quality here. with so much great beer to pick from in colorado, these guys had better figure things out pretty quickly...
