Sample from bottle at Vectura-messe; Norway. Golden colour. Orange-like aroma. Citrussy flavour, light bodied. easy to drink. Better suited for Hawaiian climate than a Norwegian winter.

This tastes industrial. It looks nice off the pour,a nice fluffy white head and a clear gold color, then it goes wrong. Smell is not much...malts and maybe some faint hops. Taste is bland. Biscuit malts, some corn, and the faintest of hops. Feel is watery.

Well, I didn't expect much, and it seems I got what I expected.

Appearance: Clear straw-yellow color with a medium-sized white head that slowly faded. A good looking beer.

Smell: Grassy aromas with some mild fruit notes.

Taste: moderate nondescript fruit notes with some moderate hay notes. The beer finishes mildly sweet with dry final finish.

Mouth-feel: On the light side of medium bodied with a medium level of carbonation.

Overall: A good easy drinking sipper,

As a hop freak, for me Golden Ale just means a fancy lager. This beer has changed my mind a bit, however. Light, dry, well carbonated and refreshing and while I didn’t get any major aroma off it, as it warmed I picked up some complexity including some mild hoppy zests and that sweet, floral honey from the malts. Pretty good and next time I see it on a hot day for under $2 for a pint can I may pick it up.

A 355ml bottle with a BB of July 2018. Acquired a while back from a webshop. Named for the waves that make Hawaii famous.

A: Poured into a tulip. Possibly bottle conditioned. A hazy golden colour with tons of suspended sediment and very low carbonation. Forms a decent head of frothy white foam that settles and dissipates almost immediately.

S: Aroma of subtle fruity hops with hints of citrus, mild tropical fruit, grass, pale malt, ale yeast and faint grain. Pretty good though understated.

T: Tastes of light fruity hops with hints of mild citrus, tropical fruit, grass/hay, pale malt, subtle grain and ale yeast. Quite dry, followed by a delicate bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, lightly tingly and dry, with soft carbonation and reasonable body. Lacking in texture. Aftertaste of vague fruity hops, faint leafiness, pale malt and ale yeast.

O: OK but won't blow your socks off. Lacklustre looks, while the aroma and flavour are pleasant and understated. So-so body; carbonation could use some work. Would be ideal as an easy-drinking brew for a hot day. Worth sampling.

Great smooth beer, yes for the snob, it may not be up to par. However for you weekend drinker who wants a refreshing smooth beer this is a GREAT choice to stock that top shelf of the garage with. It's light, its refreshing and it goes down smooth and easy. I love this beer, and any I've tried from Kona. Give it a shot!

Nice easy-to-drink blonde ale that drinks a little like a lager. Clear golden color, mild head with a little lingering lacing. Smells of mild floral hops, tastes of malt, grain, mild floral hops with fruit. Thin mouthfeel and moderate carbonation throughout. Nice and enjoyable, just lacks depth and not overly complex.
