Unless the bartender accidentally poured be a Coors light this tasted less like an IPA than anything I have ever had before. You couldn't pay me to drink this again.

Somewhat enticed by the flashy label and the promise of passion fruit and guava that offsets bitter hops, but that promise simply doesn't deliver. Weak, bitter, watery; Sour Corona effectively. 2nd fail I've had from Kona.

All this fruit crap adds up to one thing, a rather nasty tasting beer. This was part of a variety pack, I would definitely not buy this on its own merits. Personally, I don't get this fruit beer trend at all - when does beer cease to be beer? If you like it, more power to you, although not a drain pour, I really don't like this beer. I expected more from Kona Brewing, they're just jumping on the fruit wagon to be trendy. If I had to describe the taste, it reminds me of sweaty armpits on a hot summer day. Not only did this beer suck, it ruined my palate for any subsequent beers.

Haven't had a beer from Kona in awhile, so I thought I would give this a try.
A lot missing with this IPA, I got no hops on the aroma or in taste. Did taste some of
that orange they said was in there but it went away really fast. won't revisit

In a market flooding with fruity IPAs this is not the one to go for. If you like Kona or want a gentle drink by the river side this may be the one for you. Over all it leaves much to be desired.

The colour is yellow with a tint of gold; the liquid is clear. The finger thick head is white, it sinks down leaving some lacing on the glass.

The smell is fruity and sweet with distinct notes of mango and oranges. Hints of peach and passion fruit.

The taste is first bitter and dry. Growing semi-sweet notes of exotic fruits (mostly mango and oranges), Medium body. The aftertaste got some harsh bitterness, lactose and unripe plums. Mango, bay leaves and artificial fruit flavours in the long finish.

The carbonation is medium to strong, the many small bubbles are short-lived. The liquid is light and somewhat hash.

I don’t know… IPA with exotic fruits was very much the style of the day in 2016 and this one is a bit too fruity and somewhat artificial.

A= Pours a light golden with modest head and lacing.

S= Very inviting nose of nice malts and some fruits.

T= Sorry- not enjoying this. It tastes like someone made a mediocre sour batch of IPA and tried to doctor it with "Passion Fruit, Orange and Guava (and other natural flavors." I seriously dislike this. I got halfway through a tall glass of this and completely lost interest.

F= Sour, watery, some hints of IPA character and then the conflicting fruits.

Overall, I may have difficulty getting rid of the remaining 5 bottles. A wasted $8.99 locally.

on draft, in a shaker pint glass

clear light golden in color, foamy white head. aroma is sweet grain and some mild tropical fruit hop aroma. taste is fairly bland - would not call this an IPA. thin bodied

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle dated April 21, 2017. Sampled on June 18, 2017.

It pours amber-orange with a slight haze and a modest white head that diminishes.

The aroma is most definitely a tropical fruit fest including pineapple, guava, and passion fruit with an underlying woody malt character.

Medium body.

I think the fact that this is two months old contributes to the more malt forward character of the taste rather than the fruitiness I had hoped for. Mildly bitter finish.

Can't tell if it is skunked or just the way it's brewed, but it has a sour odor and taste. I mean it's okay, without much head, as light colored as a lager, but it sure ain't an IPA. Not buying this, and it's a good thing it is retired.

A little bit bitter, but not in that "wow this IPA is the right amount of bitter" type of way. Other than that, there isn't much flavor other than a hint of fruit. Overall this beer seems a bit dissapointing. Definitely one of the weaker kona brewing ales.

Yellow in color, pleasantly carbonated. nice finger of fizzy fluffy white head. Head leaves quickly, leaving a film across the top of the beer. Aroma is skunky? with touches of peach, orange and grapefruit. Taste is, once again, a touch skunky. Not really offputting, just did not expect it to be the dominant flavor. I also get touches of fruity hops, peach and other assorted citrus. Mouthfeel and finish are both light, very light, not leaving much after you swallow. Slightly weak and bitter after finishing, decent IPA
