More like a lite pale ale than a IPA. Some bitter orange zest thing going on the aroma and pallet that doesn't work for me. Prefer the Citra peach notes of Kona Big Wave. Ok beer but not for $10.99 a sixer. Kona likes pumping out Lite beers.

Grabbed out of curiosity, because I love Longboard Lager, and the cool packaging look of Kona products. Poured a cold bottle into an ipa glass. Nice head, great fresh aromas, tropical, and a nice color. Light crisp ale that refreshes the palate.
A really good, EASY drinking session IPA that won't knock you out after 3 or 4. Well done.

Had to write this one up....This is the worst IPA I've ever had. I thought it was skunked at first but upon further inspection it really seems like that's just the way this beer tastes. A musky Budweiser taste. Definitely brewed with a lager yeast...I'm totally confused by this one. I'm not detecting much fruitiness although the hops have a bit of citrus character. I hope this was skunked?

Hadn’t tried this one yet so gave it a try tonight.
Color is orange/yellow, white foamy Head.
Smell is very tropical fruit.
Taste is ok, a bit tart and too sweet for me.
Feel is tangy and tart. Overly tropical.
Overall I’m not a fan, there are a lot of IPAs that are fruit centric that are better.

I was surprised by how much I liked this.
The smell is just a bit perfumy, but I found this ale to be well balanced, over all.
I like the bitterness, and the fruity undertones complement instead of dominating.
"Easy drinking" describes it perfectly.
It's my favorite Kona brew.
I drink it COLD.

The colour is yellow with a tint of gold; the liquid is clear. The finger thick head is white, it sinks down leaving some lacing on the glass.

The smell is fruity and sweet with distinct notes of mango and oranges. Hints of peach and passion fruit.

The taste is first bitter and dry. Growing semi-sweet notes of exotic fruits (mostly mango and oranges), Medium body. The aftertaste got some harsh bitterness, lactose and unripe plums. Mango, bay leaves and artificial fruit flavours in the long finish.

The carbonation is medium to strong, the many small bubbles are short-lived. The liquid is light and somewhat hash.

I don’t know… IPA with exotic fruits was very much the style of the day in 2016 and this one is a bit too fruity and somewhat artificial.

A little bit bitter, but not in that "wow this IPA is the right amount of bitter" type of way. Other than that, there isn't much flavor other than a hint of fruit. Overall this beer seems a bit dissapointing. Definitely one of the weaker kona brewing ales.

Amaaaaazingly tropical in the nose! This overwhelming taste and smell is achieved by adding passionfruit, orange and guava to the hops. Very fruity, a bit like canned syrupy tropical fruits somewhere faintly. You might feel sometimes when smelling a rich IPA that you would wish if its taste was the same - this one quite makes it come true, its taste is very close to how richly tropical it smells.
Its taste is quite light, almost like a session IPA but halfway through the tropical fruits enter and linger on till the very end - quite the opposite of a regular IPA where you have the flavor boost first and the taste fades away.
Very nice and tropically rich, seasonable IPA, recommended for every IPA/Kona fan.

Can't tell if it is skunked or just the way it's brewed, but it has a sour odor and taste. I mean it's okay, without much head, as light colored as a lager, but it sure ain't an IPA. Not buying this, and it's a good thing it is retired.
