Bought a sixer at Round Rock Specs for 6.99.

Dark brown/black pour. Not much head...but very nice lacing throughout. Thicker looking than i expected.

Fresh coffee smell...exactly what i was hoping for...some bitter hops in the background. Nice.

A bitter upfront taste...not in a bad way. The malt quickly kicks in and dominates...roasted coffee, grassy hops. Rich flavor.

Smooth, easy drinking porter. Each sip making me want to take another. Absolutely no doubt that this one would be a great entry level porter for those interested in trying the style. This beer is solid.

Great job Kona!

S: coffee...malt...bitey
T: coffee, nutty, malty...chocolatey with lickerish overtones...yumm

On tap in a pint glass. Pours a dark black/cola like color with a finger of tan head. The aroma has the kona coffee, roasted malts, and dark chocolate notes. The taste, similar to the aroma, has the coffee, malts, and slight chocolate notes. The mouthfeel is medium-light bodied with a decent amount of carbonation, maybe a little too light for a porter, but too light is better than too heavy for this porter.

overall a solid porter, and good for sessioning because of the lightness to it.

Black in color with brownish hues on the edge of the glass. Poured with a short beige foam that reduced to light wisps and a few sticky lacings. Rich roasted malt and coffee aromas with a pleasant chocolate undertone. Thick and smooth feel with lively, tangy carbonation through the middle. Strong coffee flavor from beginning to end with roasted malt underneath. Floral hop bitterness begins in the middle and intensifies to the finish. Finishes semi-dry with a black coffe and herbal hop bitterness.

Some friends were in town and left this with me to try. Here it goes.

A-Pours a rich black with a faint red hue when held up to the light.

S- Not much on the nose with this one. Some very faint hints of coffee and chocolate.

T- Definitely picking up the coffee flavors on this one. Roasted malts and chocolate come through after a bit. Nice hop balance in the finish.

M- Average I suppose. What I would expect.

O- Solid beer. Not my absolute favorite porter, but coffee fans should give this a try. I'd happily drink it again, might even buy a sixer, but probably won't seek this one out.

This porter shows an opaque brown color with a decent sized tan head and good lacing. The aroma brings an obvious and tasteful coffee malt idea that invites the first mouthful. The flavor offers a woodsy malty coffee, with a medium body and silky feel. Carbonation is light but works well. Very good stuff that goes down very easy for the style. Recommended!

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a mug.

A Pours a dark brown topped off with a mocha colored head.

S Some nice notes of milk chocolate with a lot of coffee. Kind of sweet smelling almost like an iced mocha.

T Lots of coffee with just a hint of chocolate and roast. Its pretty much like drinking coffee.

M Kind of thin with little carbonation.

Overall I really like this beer, if Starbucks made a beer I'm pretty sure it would be like this one. But since I love coffee this worked quite well for me.

A - Dark brown with a reddish tint. Decent Light brown head retention. Lace is light but sticks well.

S - Roasty smell with a hint of molasses. Chocolatey

T - Can definitely taste the coffee. Malty in the beginning going up to an almost sweet chocolate with a bite at the drop off from the crystal malts. Almost if I had just ate a coffee bean. After taste sticks.

M - Smooth and medium bodied with light to medium carbonation.

O - Very drinkable and something that can be enjoyed by the few.
