12oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. Bottle on 4/25/11. Pours a clear, light golden straw color with one finger of light foam that quickly dissipates. Some carbonation is visible. Nose has a lot of bittersweet citrus notes along with grain aromas. Mouthfeel is appropriately light. Not enough carbonation but not heavy. Palate is quite sweet with a hint of grain and citrusy bitterness. Pretty refreshing and exotic. Not bad and a unique interpretation of the style but not good enough for me to really recommend.

Served in a glass.

A: White head dissipates quickly leaving very little lacing. No carbonation visible once settled. Color is clear gold.

S: Fruity/floral smell. Wheat malt. Smells decent enough.

T: Heavy wheat malt. Very little (hopsy) bitterness. The passionfruit adds a nice fruitiness. Has kind of a "light beer" quality to the taste and mouthfeel.

M: Light-bodied. Little bit of carbonation.

O: Decent for a "hefeweizen"-type beer. It is interesting in that it has a bit of a light beer quality to it. The passionfruit definitely is a unique touch. It brings something to the beer that I've not quite had before.
Although it's decent, I'd drink it again but I'm not sure I'd buy it again.

A: Pours a very pale and very clear golden color with about a 1/2 inch white head that dies quickly.

S: Has the smell of dank wheat with a bit of overripe tropical fruit in the background. I get some guava and a bit of something that smells like an apricot pit.

T: Very light on the palette with some definitely wheat flavor and some hints of lemon and lime. Carbonation is lacking and the finish never really comes. It seems like there's a continuation of the middle flavors of the beer, which hint at tropical fruits, but no real finish. It's still a very drinkable beer, but not a great wheat beer.

Pours golden color into my pint glass. I can smell faint fruit, maybe some pineapple but when I take a sip I get overwhelmed by fruit. Pineapple, Passion Fruit, Mango. The fruits really give a whole another dimension to this beer. It doesn't last long on the palate. Just come and go. The sweetness of the fruit is what makes me come back for more, it gives the beer more complexity and if it weren't there then I'd just think this is another kona longboard, just simple without much taste.

Thanks to my man kk73 for another Hawaiian gem.

A- Pours a light golden with a little haze and small head. No lacing sticks around.

S- Big amounts of wheat and, well, malt liquor. A sickly sweet and breadiness all thrown into one. I don't pick up much of the passion fruits they describe.

T- Still pick up a lot of wheat, some grassiness and some light pineapple, and maybe a little bit of mango.

M- Medium to lighter bodied with weaker carbonation than I would have preferred.

O- I wish the passion fruit would have been more pronounced but I think I may have let this one sit a little too long. Doesn't really matter though, I love trying any beer Kalei sends to me from the Islands.

I can't decide what I think about this. Picked it up on a whim while shopping for... just beans (had a few ham bones in the fridge, you know how it goes). A little old lady called and talked to me about it at work, and I guess when I saw it on the shelf my curiosity got the best of me.

I was hoping for a poor-woman's Berlinerweisse, to be honest. And... well, it's just not that good. Whatever head you can manage to coax out quickly dissipates to a scummy blob, and the carbonation is, ugh, so coarse. The passion fruit comes through a lot more clearly than I expected, though, and do I like the tartness...

I don't exactly regret buying the 6-pack, and it will go down easy while I read by the pool tomorrow morning. But, yeah, I don't really recommend it, either.

I get excited when I see odd fruit beer. This was the first passion fruit beer I've ever seen. It pours a good bit clearer than I would expect. There is a golden look with some good lacing. The smell right when I opened it still in the bottle was awesome. The passion fruit aroma was fantastic, once I poured it into a glass it was not nearly as strong. The flavor however doesn't live up to the initial smell. There wasn't much going on taste wise. Over all it was bland.

12. oz. Brown Bottle--->Pint Glass.
Brewed in New Hampshire for Kona.

A: Pours a clear weak yellow with a thin
white head which does not last long at
all. The lacing is minimal also.

S: Crisp and very fruity. Passion Fruits.

T/M: This is a filtered brew so the wheat
flavor is subdued a bunch. Goes down
creamy with that passion fruit flavor. Not
much hops and other grains are faint.
The finish is fruity and still pretty clean.

O: Not the best wheat beer around. The
filtering is what hurts it. The drinkability
is still pretty good, and the use of fruits
is very interesting. Worth a try and
makes for a good summer beer.

Pours a hazy straw coloration with a half finger of thin white head. Poor retention with spotty lacing.

Smell is of wheat, cereal grains and grass quite thin. Passion fruit is there in substantial quantities but the aroma is quite earthy, bordering on dank. Some metallic finish too along with alot of the fruit acidity.

Flavors seem to be mismatched and unbalanced starts with a wheat twang and cereal grains and straw, not a strong back bone. Begins to feel like passion fruit and orange juice in the middle and finishes both tart and a tad dank, garden soil and lemon zest, odd, interesting not entirely unpleasant.

Average body for a wheat beer and the carbonation picks up as the drink goes on. Though the taste and aroma are a bit dark the finish and mouthfeel is both crisp and tangy.

In my opinion there are many other wheat beers that can deliver better crispness but the passion fruit here is unique. Good for a hot morning in the yard where grass clippings and fresh earth will mask the few eccentric odd flavors in this.

Pour from Bottle to Pint Class.

Just looking at it not much going on. Almost crystal clear and light straw color. The aroma was not bad but also not much going on either. When it hits your tongue you can instantly taste the tart/sour fruit flavor. I would not say that most would be able to tell its passion fruit if it was not written on the bottle. On the mouth it almost feels like a pilsner but its a wheat. Maybe it has a pilsner malt in the grain bill.

Overall not a bad beer but definitely average. On a hot summer day when I need a light easy drinking beer I might say its better than average. They can send me a ticket to Hawaii I'm sure it would taste better there.

12oz bottle served in a standard pint glass.

L - clear yellow with a white head that became a thin ring leaving some faint lacing.

S - the aroma is actually quite nice if you like the smell of tropical fruit and I do.

T - Tart fruity taste all the way through, the wheat is very subtle. It works for me.

F - light/medium bodied with a tart feel.

O - It's got a pretty unique taste and I thought it was a refreshing change.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Bottled on date of 3/3/11 stamped on front label. It was a slightly hazy golden color with good carb streams. It had a small, fizzy head that quickly dissipated into a barely there collar. Almost no lacing.

The aroma was a bad mix of grainy malt and passion fruit. Not good. The flavor was also an odd mix of very grainy malt and passion fruit. Maybe a different fruit would have worked better. None of the normal flavors that make a good wheat ale. Mouthfeel was light and watery. Needed more carb.

Overall, not good. The mix of malt and fruit just didn't do it for me. Nothing really here to grab onto and want to have again. Seasonal avail here in TX. Rotation - one and done.

Why do I always do it? Why do I continue to try to explore 6 pack choices peppered up with enticing labels?

Appearance: Golden yellow, bubbly and a small head.

Aroma: Tropical fruits.

Taste: Eh. It starts off like it has some potential, and then in a flash comes in the really poor tasting passion fruit/pinapple taste that is more bitter than sweet, but just not working. It finishes with a bit of pepper/lemon zing.

Overall: Say aloha to this beer and move on. Cheers!

Clear yellow colored beer with a very small white head. Looks really boring.

Smell is a slight amount of wheat malt and stronger the sour smell of passion fruit. Smell of passion fruit always reminds me of sour pineapple.

Starts out sweet and sour with a slight musty wheat cracker flavor. Passion fruit sourness adds some flavor where the beer itself provides none. Not much here except a light beer with a refreshing sour edge. This probably would make a good lawnmower beer.

Mouthfeel is very light.

Drinkability is good for what it is, light and fizzy. This is the Hawaiian version of Corona with a lime in it.

A - Pours a very clear, clean pale yellow color. Pours with little to no white head.

S - Very faint, slightly fruity, slightly malty. Not a great smell, and pretty weak at best.

T - The main taste is the fruit. Not a whole lot of it at that. Although I do like the taste of the fruit, it needs a bit of backbone to make it worth it. Other than that, there's a little bit of malt. The taste lingers for a little while, but dies off quickly.

M - Feels a bit undercarbonated, honestly. The taste lingers just enough for me to want it to stay, but too long for me to want a crisp finish.

Overall, I am thoroughly disappointed with this beer. I liked one of their other offerings, but this isn't a stellar beer.

Great light summer seasonal beer! 5.4% ABV, average head, clear body, no sediment, straw color, light on hops, nice passionfruit flavor, light on the malt, no yeasty taste, very light body, think texture, light carbonation, moderately sweet...no sour or bitter taste...Awesome beer!

A - Pours clear light gold in color with about one finger of head that dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing.

S - Wheat, malt, dry bread, passion fruit, pomegranate, grassy hops, touch of lemon.

T - Malty, cracker-like, buttery, a bit of farmhouse funk, which also may just be the passion fruit, slightly bitter and peppery.

M - Medium in body, rather well balanced, maybe a little on the thin side.

O - Light and crisp, but the flavors are pretty awkward and not all that desirable.

got this sixer at WalMart in Vancouver, WA for $6.99.

serving type: bottle
appearance: drinkin' from the bottle.
smell: citrus, hops
taste: real, real light ale. it the label didn't say it i would guess differently. label also says "passion fruit" so i'll go with that. ;)
mouthfeel: light
overall: i had this in back of the freezer for a long time so it's ice cold. i don't really care for this beer much. it doesn't have any taste really. i imagine you could get wasted off this pretty quick. if i was in hawaii i could definitely picture drinking a sixer of this on a nice beach with nice weather. :D

I poured a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass...

The beer was a clear, pale yellow with a thin, bubbly, white head. It smells lightly fruity and sour with a hint of wheat. The taste slightly puckers the cheeks, it's just a bit tart, there is a sour fruit flavor along with lemon and lime. The flavor is very subtle. The beer is light with some prickly carbonation and a smooth finish. This beer is an interesting wheat, the slightly sour aspect is different than other wheats that I have had. It's not amazing but I would drink it again.

A: Pours a clear golden yellow with a small, fizzy, off-white head.

S: Honestly, smell like vomit. Maybe some passion fruit and maybe some wheat, but it's bad and smell liked some puked up a beer.

T: Taste follows the smell. Watered down wheaty flavor with a sour passion fruit hint. There's a funky aspect to it that's just gross.

M: Light body, medium carbonation, watery texture.

O: Bought a six pack of this and between 3 people, we hated it. Ended up pouring the whole 6-pack down the drain. Not drinkable in the least bit and wouldn't drink it if it was free.

Another sampling on a recent vacation to Oahu. Not one of my favorites, but still a good offerring to the beer gods.

Pours a hazy, light gold with a thin head, barely a finger's worth of foam. Drops quickly, but leaves some nice lacing and depth markings with each sip.

Aromas of citrus, lemon, wheat and fruity.

First sip is of lemon zest, passion fruit, crisp and slightly sweet. Hints of a wit. Faint bitterness. A bit tannic.

Mouthfeel is light, crisp.

Overall drinkability is good. Not a go to beer, but light, refreshing, would pair well with seafood and chicken dishes, or even a veggie pizza.

Poured into a SA Perfect Pint glass. Bottled on 8/17/10

A - The brew pours a light golden color with a bit of cloudiness. Very small head even with a fairly aggressive pour that goes away as quickly as it come. Almost no lacing along the glass.

S - Wheat and slight passion fruit are the most noticeable aromas. A bit of hop smell in there as well.

T - I was definitely expecting more of a fruity flavor. Passion fruit was rather subdued with the wheat standing out the most. Not to much going on here. It tastes good, just nothing exceptional.

M - Light body with a medium to high amount of carbonation.

D - Considering it is on the lighter side you could put back a few of these pretty easy.

I picked this out on a limb and was satisfied. Probably won't be picking this out again but it was a nice change of pace.

Reviewed from notes.

Poured into a weizen glass. Color is a pretty cloudy yellow with a bit of an apricot tint to it. White head falls pretty quickly, though was fairly large to start. The nose is mostly wheat but does have a subtle aroma of passion fruit. The taste is more so just light wheat and grain with a subtle fruitiness. Fairly light feel. I wish they would have gone for a bit more o the passion fruit flavor and played around with some sort of light hopping, or added in a more-flavorful yeast.

This beer has a very light colour and a head that dies quickly with very little carbonation. The smell is of passionfruit and some caramelisation, like a desert. The initial taste is bland but it builds into a slightly sour passionfruit aftertaste. Very interesting and quite pleasant.

Price was average I payed $8 and some change.

Would drink well with chicken or seafood.
