Notes:
Koko Brown's distinctive, nutty aroma and flavor comes from real, toasted coconut blended into each brew. One sip of this smooth, mahogany colored ale and you'll feel like you're on a warm, sun drenched beach in Hawaii. Crack one open!

bought this at Krogers - just because I liked the idea of coconut beer
a just a tad lighter than cola - about 1.5 fingers of head clear but dark
s
nondecript really - not much to the nose - just a bit of maltiness
t about the same - sorry but I dont discern and coconut at all. slightly sweet - no hopiness
m standard
d: in the oft repeated words of

Picked this up as a single bottle at Total wines. I've been looking forward to try this since I heard they were bottling it and shipping it to the west coast.
Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Bruery Tulip glass.
The beer pours a copper amber with a red hue. Much less carbonation then I expected, about a quarter inch, and that faded to just a ring on top, some very light lacing.
The smell is toasted cocount, with a bit of caramelt malt backbone.
Flavor is toasted coconut upfront, some bread, caramel, but it fades in the middle. Finish is crisp, with a very light tinge of bitterness.
Mouthfeel is light, and a little thin, especially on the back end. It fades on the swallow.
Overall, a new twist on a brown ale for me, and very Hawaii. I did like it, and would not turn down another.

A - Poured out a clear, mahogany color with a one-finger, khaki colored head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass.
S - It smelled of toasty coconut. Lots of coconut aroma.
T - The toasted coconut is less strong in the taste. Nice toffee and caramel flavors. Slightly bitter.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a dry finish.
O - This is a unique brew. I'm not a huge fan of coconut but it works.

Poured out of a 12 oz bottle into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a clear, deep amber medium brown color with ruby highlights when held up to the light. The slightly off white head is about a inch thick when first poured before eventually settling to a big tick ring lining the inside of the glass and nice swirls of foam on the beer's surface. Pretty decent lacing. Aromas of caramel and molasses malts along with nice hints of coconut, chocolate, and nut. Flavor wise it has a nice sweet caramel and molasses malt sweetness upfront followed by the aforementioned hints of coconut, chocolate, and nut. The slight taste of oak is also present, and it is all rounded out with a slight hop presence of the back of the tongue. Very nice blending of all the various flavors going on here. Has a crisp, smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and a nice clean finish. Easy to drink in the way a well crafted beer should be.

A - poured with a small head of off white foam on a clear, amber brown body. The head fades quickly and leaves little lace.
S - toasty amber malt with some toffee and a hint of fruity coconut.
T - dark caramel and toasted grain up front. Some dark sugar in the middle with a nutty character and light bitterness balancing in the finish.
M - A medium-thick, oily body, moderate carbonation, and a subtly sweet finish.
D - not bad, it is clearly a well made brown ale at heart. The coconut definitely has an effect, though I can't decide if it helps or hurts in the end.
