Straw gold pour with a pleasant white head.
Aromas are the typical new age IPA, citrus, pine but very pungent hoppy.
Taste is a very nice IPA flavour. Again, citrus, resinous pine and some hoppy finish.
Clean, crisp mouth feel with a proper amount of bitterness.
This is a nice IPA. TRY IT!

Bottle pour into standard pint glass. Clear golden appearance despite being an IPA, someone could easily see this beer and mistake it for a lager; however, when tasting it they would be in for a surprise because it has the deep flavors you'd except from a "west coast" born IPA. Smell is pleasant and floral. The beer is extremely crisp and drinkable, one of my steady American IPA favorites.

I tried Kona Brewing a year ago, but that was before I was into reviewing. I picked up a fresh batch, chilled it, and poured into a nice tall glass. It has 6.0% ABV and 50 IBUs and lots to offer so let’s take a gulp!

Look-It poured a surprisingly light golden color for an IPA. It almost looks like a lager! The clarity was true and persistent. The head was like a lemon-merengue pie, but with some larger bubbles frothing on the side. It started out at two fingers thick and slowly settled down to just under a finger all the way down.

Smell-It had a dank and pungent smell that reminded me of—dare I say—cannabis. I smelled it very clearly every time so I was forced to review the true aroma of this unique brew. On top of that, I get honey-malts and floral, mango hops that beg one to take a sip.

Taste-It has a noticeable mango and floral hop part superposed on the honey-suckle malt base. There are also some overtones of pineapple and maybe some coconut which makes for a truly Hawaiian experience lending to the name.

Mouthfeel-It is medium-bodied but just slightly underbalanced to let the hops shine through stronger than the malts.

Overall- The hops are the champions of this beer and are not too bitter, but instead serve up an explosion on the palate of typical Hawaiian fruits and flavors. The malts are shy, but fine-tuned and honey-suckle based which plays well with the tropical and herbal hops. A must try for all!

Decent enough IPA - brings some tropical fruits impressions and a little citrus to the fore - modest malt base, typical carbonation levels - respectable enough beer but nothing exceptional

Not a beer I would ever go out of my way to acquire given how many fantastic IPAs and pales there are to be had out there, but still good and worth trying. I had it on tap at Bar Coastal in NYC, which is by no means known for having a good craft beer selection. Probably the only passable beer on menu, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Light golden color and very drinkable; tastes like a session IPA or a pale. Hoppy taste that I love though. If there are no standouts on tap somewhere, definitely give this a try.
