[IMG] When Disaster Strikes, tasting better now than earlier. Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass not sure when it was canned with in the last 10 days. Pours an attractive cloudy orange yellow with tiny head that leaves thin streaks of lace after each sip, with little retention. 4

Aroma is mango, tangerine, a hint of gonja, blueberry, and apricot. 4

Taste follows mango, tangerine, a little Marijuana, blueberry, and apricot. 4.25

Mouthfeel is a little bigger than medium, a little more carbonation than expected, not sticky or dry, and at 8.5% it is easy drinking. 4.25

Overall not crazy hazy, but more SOS or Dinner. I would recommend. 4.25

16oz undated can.

Pours hazy gold with an inch of white fluff. Moderate retention and lacing. Apricots, tangerine, pear juice in the nose. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Pure juice on the palate with fruit cocktail syrup. Finishes with minimal malt or bitterness.

Can from the Advent Box
Just a touch of haze in this lemon yellow elixir with a tightly bubbled white head that persists. Bright grapefruit and melon with hints of earth and pine atop a sweet bready maltiness. Pretty tasty

Poured from a can into a tulip glass. No date on can, was told by someone in the brewery that it was canned 6 days ago. Orange/amber in color, hazy but not in that kind of creamy/milky way that some NEIPAs are. White head and decent lacing/retention. Lots of tropical fruits and stone fruits on the nose. Tastes of overripe pineapple, sweet orange, hint of lychee on the back end. A bit dank and nice balance of bitterness. A bit light on the mouthfeel for a 8.5% but pleasantly so. Second beer from Modestman and really makes me excited for more. Going to be buying lots of beers here.

From a 16 oz. can acquired and sampled on May 15, 2022.

The appearance is a mostly hazy and pulpy orange-amber with a modest cream colored head.

Aroma of grapefruit, pineapple, orange, melon and a lower profile breaded note. No alcohol on the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

The taste is sweet with a tropical burst and a moderately bitter hopped finish. Low to no booze bite. Like so many others in this category. I run out of things to say about them.

Grab from the brewery on 2/23/22
Opened and reviewed same day

Tasting notes on the can:
Single hop--Mosiac.
Overripe mandarin/candied lychee/tart pineapple/ floral/creamy mouthfeel

L: a soft, hazy golden color with a high-rising, all white foamy dome of froth. Classic NE looks.

Aromatics: sweet fruity hops forward, spicy floral, lychee for sure, clementine and vanilla cream.

Feelz: A lighter body for NE styles, juicy AF with a relaxed, creamy texture. No dryness, but silky and fresh for sure.

Flavors: earthy mandarin orange, sweet fruity currents pop from the Mosiac only hop complexity. Spicy stone fruit all over the place. Easy, yet serious complex. Malt is golden grainy and clean Ale juicy.

Overall vibe. Fresh, solid, juicy, fruity with husky edges and smooth, light feels. I love a single hop NEIPA because you know exactly where those hop flavors come from. Modest Man just crushing this style, time and time again.

From a 16oz can, undated. Released at the brewery today. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.

Pours an only moderately hazy honey-gold with two fingers of soft, soapy suds. Retention is excellent, leaving a heavy, lathery cap and fat gobs of lacing.

Nose is rich and fruity, flowery, sweet and bready. Aroma of sweet Hawaiian rolls and orange slices.

Taste is sweet orange slices, white bread and a sherry-like booze flavor. Tasting orange peel, citron, camphor, lime and mint. Slightly catty with a smidge of pine at the finish.

Feel is clean and juicy, medium bodied and brightly carbonated. Drying, with boozy warmth in the gullet.

Overall, a well brewed, intensely flavorful IPA. Brewer’s description says overripe mandarin, I say sweet orange slices, either way think ‘orange.’
