NEIPA 7%
Opaque yet still a bright straw gold color. A white haze is thick within the gold and orange tints. Pure white foam cap is short, but sustained well. Lays out very thin over time, with lots of swirling, crazy lacing patterns.
The aromatics on this is crazy fruity hop dominance. A pungent, yet strange fruity smell... Let's see: Mango, peaches from the can and orange juice, herbal mixture, maybe some old spice, sour wheat and golden grains with lime. Like I said pungent but strange.
Feels: crisp, fresh, smooth, full and maybe even dry. The NEIPA done right has the most wonderful and complex mouthfeel! This one hits all the right spots. I want to emphasize smooth and lush.
The soft textured liquid rolls on the taste buds with dense fruitiness, mango and orange citrus in a big way, chunky hop cone style just full of tropical, stone and earthy fruits. The golden maltiness has a multitude of golden style grains and lightly toasted oats type effect. Delicious earthy flavors from both the malty and hop side are crazy complex and deep. Some medium dry bitterness and piney leftovers brings it all back around to classic IPA stylings.
Take some time to concentrate and ponder this one, the depth of flavor, complexity and unique hop tones deserves your undivided attention.
