Pours an opaque pale gold color with 2 fingers of creamy off-white head. Excellent head retention. Leaves some random sticky cobwebs of lacing.

Lots of mango on the nose, as well as lemon, grapefruit, and pineapple. A little bit of stone fruit.

The taste follows with notes of mango, lemon, stone fruit and pineapple. There's a subtle earthy, even nutty character. Finishes rindy with lingering grapefruit.

The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Creamy and soft with a lightly dry finish.

Overall, I'd say this is a very good NEIPA. Definitely a nice showcase of both hops being used, with a good balance of bitterness and sweetness.

Hazy lemon yellow with a huge frothy white head that shows great retention. Lemony earthy grassy citrus and tropical fruits with a splash of sweet bread to counter. Very nice.

 

Here's my review to compare-and-contrast with Modestman's "The Sun Rises In The East," their other concurrently-available NEIPA with the same concept (two hops, 7% ABV). Just reviewed the other one about an hour ago, so while it's fresh in my mind, I figured now would be a good time to get out my thoughts about this one, which features Mosaic and Galaxy. Just like TSRITE, this features two well-known modern hop varietals, Mosaic and Galaxy (whereas the other highlighted Citra and Vic Secret), so I'm excited to see how they stack up against one another and the modern hazy IPA scene coming out of the New England area as a whole.

This definitely seems like a better pour than TSRITE, for some reason. Yes, I did decant the beer into a different glass (stemless wine glass vs the stange I used for the other), but the head retention and lacing here are both much better. Though the head still only builds up to about a half-finger, it lingers slightly more and leaves a better coat of soapy lacing behind as it does so. Legs still aren't great here, and the color is pretty plain and unexciting, but I just feel like there isn't too much to be done with the NEIPA pour these days, so this will suffice for the most part.

Mosaic. Galaxy. Yeah, those are definitely two of the most well-known, highly-vaunted hops in the scene. They deserve the accolades they receive, of course, and here I get a ton of earthy dankness, pine, pomelo, and blueberry-like fruitiness immediately. Slight chive, passion fruit, and guava with backing notes of gooseberry, cannabis, and fresh-cut grass with light nods towards herbal aspects and some nutmeg/warming spice. Freaking tons going on here, and it's pretty much all in line with what I know of the utilized hop varietals. I'm impressed.

The flavor here is oily and resinous with tons of dank earthiness, chive/green onion, light notes of raspberry jam, blueberry, and tropical white wine-like elements mingling with orange marmalade and apricot. Just a hint of melon and some aggressive, bitter grassy/herbal/dank components hitting hard in the finish, which remains moderately-aggressive and bitter in a complementary way. Feel is somewhat chewy but still biting and playful in its own way; defined carbonation helps carry a lot of the intriguing hop flavors along the palate, and the way it lingers on the tongue after each sip is pretty great. I think I enjoyed this one a bit more than TSRITE overall, but I prefer Mosaic over Citra and Vic Secret over Galaxy (for the most part, and I know that's not really a legitimate way to compare hops), and I think the Mosaic really helped this one become its own thing. Excited for more by MMB. Now I need them to come out with a double NEIPA with some other cool hops. Will be looking forward to it!

Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a hazy dark yellow with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves thick streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.5

Aroma papaya, peach, mandarin, fresh melon, apricot, and some grapefruit rind. 4.5

Taste follows papaya, mandarin, pineapple, cantaloupe, apricot, and a healthy dose of white grapefruit in long lasting finish. 4.5

Mouthfeel is bigger than medium, not dry but a tad sticky, soft creamy carbonation, and at 7% ABV it drinks a little bigger in body and flavor, but still goes down really easy. 4.5

Overall this is an excellent NEIPA from Modestman Brewing. Very young brewery turning out some amazing brews. 4.5

Pours milky yellow with a thin head of white. Moderate retention with some smears of lacing.
Pungently tropical in the nose with pineapple, peach, white grapes, and mango. Medium bodied with a creamy, lightly chalky mouthfeel. Pithy, spicy citrus on the palate. Unripe peach, grapefruit, orange, and pineapple. Finishes fairly dry with plenty of resinous, citrusy hops, minimal malt, and a firm bitterness.

Stunning glow in the golden haze, thick liquid NE hazy all the way. Robust white foam cover doesn't disappoint.

A bold and very fresh hop style nose. Sticky lupulin straight of the hop vine aromatherapy. Creamy golden grain malt, zesty and herbal Mosiac, Creamy pineapple Galaxy.

Modest Man makes some of the cleanest, crispest New England hazy IPA's anywhere. The depth of this duo-hopped beer is stunning. Fresh hop taste, deep earthy and herbal tones with zesty pineapple and that classicly remarkable NE mouthfeel....
Crisp grains quicky turns to a fluffy, smooth finish. This style has some of the best feels of any style.

Quality is top shelf, depth of character is HIGH and Soo darn clean!

From a 32oz growler, filled at the brewery 10/21/20. Served in an IPA glass.

Pours a thin-appearing, hazy lemony-gold with two-plus fingers of frothy, merengue-like head. Retention is very good, leaving a thick, pouffy cap and fat wads of pocked lacing.

Mild aroma of plum and leafy herbs, maybe getting a little bit piney as it warms up.

Taste is crackers, grapefruit, pine tips, oily orange peel and plum. Dry and crackery with moderate citrus pith bitterness and a little plum sweetness creeping in at the edges.

Feel is clean and quenching. It could pass as juicy if it weren’t so drying at the finish. Fairly light bodied relative to the style,with bright, prickly carbonation. Goes down fast.

Overall, a better than serviceable American IPA - it’s up on the board as an NEIPA but I’m not feeling it. Considering it’s supposed to be hopped with both mosaic and galaxy, it doesn’t exactly deliver an explosion of flavour and, in fact, it’s got at least a bit of an old-school taste to it... which is not meant as a complaint - it’s a well-crafted, easy-drinking, quaffable, tasty beer.
