Poured into a 13 oz Teku glass canned this week. Pours a hazy yellow orange with a finger plus sticky white head that leaves a thick almost wall of lace with excellent retention. 4.5
Aroma ripe melon, peach, passionfruit, hints of garlic and marijuana, mango, apricot, and grapefruit rind. 4
Taste follows cantaloupe, peach, passionfruit, mango, apricot, garlic and marijuana, and a bold grapefruit bite in the finish. 425
Mouthfeel is above average, soft creamy carbonation, maybe a tad sticky but not dry, and at 8.5% in flavor and body drinks bigger, but still very approachable. 4.5
Overall another really nice NEDIPA from Modestman Brewing. 4.25

From a 16oz can, undated. Purchased at the brewery 01/22/22. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.
Pours a hazy, glowing, sunshiney honey-gold with a scant finger of soft foam. Retention is unremarkable, leaving a thin curtain of lacing.
Nose is fruity and sharp. Aromas of mango and honey.
Taste is sweet, grainy, boozy. Fruit-juicy and garlicky. Tasting honey, lime and blueberry. Light fusel character at the finish with a sour porridge and lime aftertaste.
Feel is juicy, creamy-slick, medium-plus bodied and brightly carbonated. Sticky lips.
Overall, it’s OK. It’s actually growing on me as it warms but, still, I’ll finish my four-pack and move on.

Many thanks to SawDog505 for this can!!
A - Opaque orange tan color with soapy white lacing and low to no carbonation.
S - Juicy and dank tangerine on the nose along with passion fruit, mango, and some citrus spiciness.
T - Juicy from start to finish: Floral, mango, passion fruit, mango, tangerine, peppery spicy citrus rind. Ends balanced but on the sweeter side with some mild earthy citrus bitterness. The ABV is completely hidden and goes down easy.
M - Thick, soft, and coats the mouth with a hefty layer of citrus hops that creates a cotton-like texture on the walls of the mouth.
O - I really dig this one and have no qualms about highly recommending this NE D-IPA. Seek it out.
Thx again, Tim!

I was extremely pumped to see this in stock at a store I frequent, as Modestman has been nothing but impressive so far in my opinion. I had Buhloone Mindstate a few weeks ago and it was superb, so it would make sense that the DIPA adaptation of it would be just as good, if not better, right? Let's find out...
The pour here is excellent; a nearly-opaque orange-ish hued beer tumbles into my glass, immediately topped off with a dollop of creamy suds measuring about three fingers initially, though it quickly settles to about a finger-and-a-half, leaving behind great lace and legs as it does so. The surface is fully covered and retention is spectacular, and I can actually even see some of the carbonation rising from the bottom of my glass to the surface despite the intense haze going on here. Very nice!!
So, this features Mosaic and Galaxy (like its younger sibling), two of the hop varietals du jour of the last few years... therefore, expectations are pretty high, not gonna lie. I immediately feel at ease when I bring the glass to my nose, however; straight-up dankness, tons of tangerine, tangelo, pine resin, and intense floral elements assault my senses in the best way possible. Holy shit, this is so saturated! It's just dripping with massive hoppiness in a way I don't experience frequently. Who are these guys? This is next-level... I just finished a can of Six Seam (by Idle Hands), one of my favorite stronger NEIPAs out there, and this actually somehow smells better than that. I'm not even sure this should be allowed. I'm blown away. Where Buhloone Mindstate had a lot of subtle complexity, this just annihilates the senses in a full-on, no-holds-barred way. I prefer DIPAs over regular strength IPAs, though, especially if the hops are well-utilized as they are here, though... your mileage may vary.
Flavor profile is just absolutely spectacular. Tons of earthy goodness, dank resinous overtones, and citrusy flavors ranging from tangelo to orange with some tropical notes as well... guava, passion fruit, and overripe mango mingle with superb herbal density and light notes of blueberry toward the finish. Feel is detailed, featuring moderate carbonation holding up the light-medium (for the style) body. This is super crisp and wonderfully-balanced... I'm just honestly really blown away here. Buhloone Mindstate was good, but this is truly next level. Up there with some of the very best Hill Farmstead IPAs I've had. Clean, crisp, complex, calculated... these guys are a brewery to look out for, absolutely.

This is my 2021'st review on 1/15/21
Purchased from the brewery on 1/13/21**update from 1/24/22
Gold>orange hues, white haze within and thick ness. Creamy white cap. Tight and solid. Big lace. Fat lace and runny. **deep hazy.
The best aspect of the nose for NE double IPA is that deep and fresh hop cone thing, crushed up green cones with husky and fruity effects. Pineapple and lemon zest, boozy citrus. It's heady smells.
Fresh and lively, dry and then milky smooth texture and mouthfeel is lush and luxurious.** Modest Man's mouthfeel is always on-point and sets a high standard.
A spicy hop bite with peppery and earth edges has pineapple, orange rind and creamy earthy grains. This is Modest Man's bigger alpha acids style bitter crunchy IPA. Dig? ** Crunchy orange zest, passionfruit and tangy mango rounds out a huge flavor profile and complexity.
