Notes: The Infamous takes the hop bill of Modestman’s “Mega” (Citra/Mosaic) and combine that with Fidens “Eugenes Axe” (Citra/Galaxy). The result is BIG guava/juicy citrus/ripe berries, slight piney dankness on the nose/lightly toasted malt/balanced silky finish.

Dry hopped at a rate of 8.5lbs

16oz undated can.

Pours cloudy yellow with a half-inch head of white. Minimal retention or lacing. Pineapple, apricots, peach, mango in the nose. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Candied peach, mango, apricot,, pear syrup on the palate. Finishes with minimal malt, balancing bitterness, and fairly dry albeit quite juicy.

From a 32oz growler, filled at the brewery within the past couple of hours. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.

Pours a milkily-opaque orange with two fingers of creamy, lathery head. Retention is fairly decent, settling to a puckered cap, then a creamy collar with sudsy streaks of lacing.

Nose is rich and fruity. Tropical fruit basket, aromas of mango and pineapple, peach, vanilla.

Taste veers off a bit from the nose, being earthier, and sort of woody, and with an unanticipated pithy bitterness. Tasting pineapple, grapefruit juice, peach skin, jam, mango and lime, then pine needles and aromatic cedar wood. Juicy, moderately bitter.

Feel is clean and juicy, medium, maybe medium-light bodied, with bright, zippy carbonation.

Overall, another excellent NEDIPA. Perilously easy drinking on draft, what with no indication at all of the 8.5% abv in either the taste or the mouthfeel. Was this a collaboration with Fidens? I seem to vaguely remember something like that. So, maybe it won’t be brewed again but, if it is, I’ll be sure to grab some.
