Single-Hop Mosaic
This beer showcases everything we love about this dynamo hop… tangerine flesh/ripened mango/Seville oranges/floral/pillowy soft mouthfeel.

16oz can from the Packie
Hazy dark yellow color with a thin off white head that persists.
Earthy grassy citrus and tropical fruits with hints of earth pine resin and sweet bread.

The Big Bang
Modestman Brewing LLC IPA New England / Hazy
Single Hop: Mosaic. Earthy orange and black pepper hop complexity makes it easy to see what Mosiac hop is all about. Crisp, then very soft smooth feel. Top shelf hazy.

From a 32oz growler, filled at the brewery, geez, just like maybe half an hour ago? Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.
Pours a lightly hazed, light appearing, sunshiney-pineappley gold with two fingers of soft, soapy suds. Retention is fairly decent, leaving a pouffy, sudsy cap and a tattered sheet of foam lacing.
Sharp, tart and fruity. Aromas of tangerine and lime, rose, and a little b.o.
Taste is sweaty and dank. Huge burst of post-coital sweat. Tasting bhang water and perfumey rose, tangerine and lime. Vanishingly low bitterness, salty? almost like ham - that’s odd. Soda crackers, earthy, gritty peach, sour mango peel - a mosaic grab bag. Sure enough, here’s a bit of blueberry sweetness in the aftertaste.
Feel is thinly juicy, relatively light bodied with fine, gentle carbonation. Honestly, a little under-carbonated to my taste. Acidic smoulder in the gullet.
Overall, a bit of a mixed bag - some of absolutely everything that mosaic has to offer - to a fault. God knows, it’s flavorful as all fuck, for better and worse. I don’t really associate mosaic with body odor-type dankness and frankly may have briefly recoiled in horror just a little and, between that and the whole bhang water and roses thing, IMO the beer just needed a whole bunch more carbonation or something to get off the ground.
