Had it recently on business trip to St Louie. No head but had a pleasant nose of west coast hops. This beer and most of Schlafly selection is a much needed change from the normal (%$+ you get from the "other" brewery in St Louie! Also a nice change for them as they usually have more malty non citrusy hopped offerings.

Stay Thirsty mi amigos!

pour was light brown with a hint of orange, light creamy head, light retention and lacing

quite a floral scent up front, bits of sweet citrus

again, very floral with a light malt bill and slight caramel notes. hops dominate for sure. there were also slight bitter citrus hop flavors through out and in the finish. i wouldnt mind a slightly higher malt profile but all in all, this is aces.

fairly full but with light carbonation. a bit more fizzy please.

i love this and wish it was not a rotating release. id love to drink the hell out of this.

On cask at the taproom, reviewed from notes.

For a cask ale, this one looked great, with plenty of head and lots of lacing.

There's no shortage in the smell or taste of delicious, pungent hops, lemony citrus, and lightly roasted malts. It's the very definition of delicious, right up there with their APA and AIPA on cask, downright fantastic.

The body was rich and smooth, great feel; a wonderful cask ale served absolutely perfectly.

Overall it's definitely A material beer on cask. Highly recommended in any serving type.

Pours a clear, dark brown with lighter amber along the bottom and edges. One inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong hops and slight sweet malt. Fits the style of an American Brown Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and slight thick with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong hops, slight sweet malt, very slight roasted malt, slight alcohol, and some sweet citrus. Overall, a very smooth beer that tastes very similar to a dark IPA. I highly recommend this brew.

Originally brewed for a Schlafly employee wedding, this showed up on tap at Sycamore in Columbia, MO.

A - Poured a dirty brown color with a small, tan, foamy head. It left nice lace on the pint glass.

S - It smelled floral and hoppy. It also had rich roasted malt aroma.

T - This is a very hoppy brown ale with a great bittersweet kick. Some nice burnt toast maltiness, too.

M - It was crisp and smooth. A medium-bodied beer.

D - This was outstanding. I hope it becomes a regular part of their line-up.

I have had this on tap and cask, served in a shaker pint.

Appearance is a nice amber brown.

Smell is a nice malt aroma with some nice juicy hops coming through.

Taste on cask is the best, the little higher temp really brings out the hops in this beer. Love it.

Mouthfeel is very good not heavy at all and the hops bitterness balanced with the malt.

Overall I am always looking forward to when Schlafly makes this, unfortunately it is usually only brought out during the summer months.

Had on 7/31/2010

A - Very nice mahogany color with some amber hints and a nice .75 inch head that was light tan and pretty retentive. Left some good lacing as the beer was enjoyed.

S - Aroma is of some sweet malts with a mild roasted aroma but overall it is very floral and grassy with the Amarillo hops coming in very decisively. Delicious combination!

T - Delicious! Up front slight malt sweetness with some nice chocolate trying to come through that then gets covered up by some nice grassy and earthy hops tones. Great citrus character that isn't too overwhelming but definitely there.

M & D - Very refreshing with a nice medium body. Great fusion of flavors that are traditionally opposites. Very refreshing and drinkable.

Stopped by the Tap Room for a quick pint this afternoon. Pours a dark brown with ruby hues and a small white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops. Probably one of the hoppiest brown ales I have had, which makes for a nice summer beer. Lots of citrusy grapefruit up front. Nice malt presence in the back to add a little balance. Overall a very nice brown for the heat of the summer.
