Pours a hazy gold color. 1/2 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong citrus hops, slight floral hops, alcohol, sweet malt, pale malt, hint of piney hops, and slight rye. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. There is also a noticeable bitterness. Tastes of strong citrus hops, slight floral hops, alcohol, sweet malt, pale malt, hint of piney hops, resin, and slight rye. Overall, great blend, fresh body, full-bodied, complex, good appearance, a rather surprising brew.

Aroma is rye, spices, pine and grapefruit/citrus. The flavor is citrus, grapefruit, slightly sweet tropical fruit and a mix of rye, spices, mild alcohol and tart in the finish.

Straw yellow to gold in color with a quarter inch of creamy brilliant white on top. Light lacing. The aroma is of tropical hops and spicy to earthy rye. I'm tasting a well balanced amount of spicy earthy rye and tropical hops. The mouth is light, crisp, and pure.

really great looking for an on tap beer, gorgeous amber-tan to almost copper color, crystal clear with a great head and tons of sticky lacing.

Smells and tastes super hoppy, masterfully done. It's almost got a slight barleywine character, but with rye in place of barley. Pungent earthy aspects accent nicely. there's a bit of herbal/spice character and some light lemon peel too, plus some good toffee to finish it off.

Slightly oily from the hops and well carbonated, tangy bitter finish to a perfectly delicious beer. Highly recommended.

Came out to me in a small imperial pint. Thin film of bright white head, and has a cleanly filtered copper colored body.

Aroma is sour apple, caramel, and floral hops with metallic hints.

Sweet upfront with a touch of toffee, then blends in with herbal/lemon, finishing off with bitter grapefruit.

Feels medium in body, a little dry, and leaves the palate dry.

Pours a golden color with a good sized white head. Smells of rye and pine. The rye balances out the pine and citrus flavors and the beer is really smooth and easy to drink. Excellent.

I know what you're thinking. 4.5 really? Yes really. I think we all agree 5 is perfect. And this is pretty close to perfect. I took one sip of this and had to write a review because I believe in giving credit where credit is due. And credit is due here friends. This beer is amazing. I'm gonna go ahead and say this is the best Schlafly beer I've ever had. And that's saying a lot because they make some really good beer. It's got a huge floral nose. It's got a great full body. It's perfectly balanced. It finishes clean and crisp. I hope you can get it as fresh as I have (12 days) but either way if you see it on the shelf you'd be a fool to pass it up. If you live in STL... go get it some right now. Cheers Schlafly, this is an amazing brew.
