Looks like another Trader Joe's pseudo-brand. My can is stamped "best by 1/17/2022".
A very solid, if simple, IPA. Mild aromas but good classic flavor of pine, citrus peel and floral hops. High bitterness and resin over a light grain base. Dry bitter finish.

As mentioned in other reviews I might be less inclined if it were $15/4pack, but at something like $8/6 pack it's an excellent deal that if be happy to pick up again if needed.

Can from Trader Joes. Dark golden, thin film of head, kind of dull. Not much to the aroma, faint malt. Taste is also kind of bland, malty with some citrus peel notes, and a medium bitter bite. Not sure if this a TJ beer, or just something they're selling. About on par with the Josephsbrau stuff.

Another Trader Joe’s pickup.

Pours a hazy golden color with a beautiful gigantic head that leaves a whole bunch of lacing down the sides.

Aroma is rich hops. Floral and pine with some oily resin.

Bitter oily hops, with some underlying floral notes and a touch of pineapple

Mouthfeel pops with carbonation. The oily bitterness adds a lot.

Overall very drinkable and really not bad at all for the price. I wouldn’t mind keeping a six pack on hand. Im giving it a 4.5 overall because it’s a solid, yet simple, ipa for a very low price. If this were 12 bucks for a sixer we’d be having a little different conversation but for the 7.99 it’s great.

12 oz can with a September 2021 BB date stamped on the bottom.
Appearance. Pours with a very hazy orangish amber colored body with a good white head that leaves some lacing sticking to the glass.
Aroma. Complex and distinctive smell with a relatively strong amount of citrus and bready malts.
Flavor. Plenty of hop flavor here with fruity, herbal and grassy aspects. Moderately bitter for the style.
Feel. Lively but soft medium+ carbonation in a smooth medium body.
Overall. Recommended.

Poured from a can into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed yellow amber color with a billowy f head of white foam. The head has a fair level of retention, slowly fading over time to leaving rings of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the brew is rather strong of a bready and carmal malt smell mixed with a rather strong showing of tropical fruits and citrus. The tropical fruits are mainly of a papaya aroma while the citrus is a mix of tangerine and orange. At the same time there are some nice hop smells of an herbal and grapefruit hop as well.

Taste – The taste begins with a mix of a lightly grainy and crackery malt flavor mixed with some other flavors of a very light tangerine and caramel sweetness. These, more crisp in nature flavors, are accompanied by some grapefruit and herbal hop. As the taste moves forward the herbal hop grows stronger and is joined by a bit of a grass and hay taste. At the same time some of the sweeter tastes fade, in the end, leaving one with a nice crisp and clean, moderately hopped taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the slightly lighter and more crisp side with a carbonation level that is rather high. For the crisp flavors of the brew the body is great and makes this one a very easy clean sipper.

Overall – A rather nice, flavorful and refreshing brew overall. Rather tasty!!

Trader Joe's special. The price got me, as it was cheep.

Not bad at all tho, certainly fine with having five left.

Flavorful with piney, dank hops and a kinda woody malt base. Easy to drink without excess sweet or bitter.

this appears to be another curious trader joes label, not sure ive had or seen anything else from these guys outside of this context, but, this might be the best of these i have had, really a solid, crisp, fresh, and flavorful ipa, lighter than many on the malt side and in terms of body, but snappy, quenching, bright, and the fact that its done with quality ingredients is obvious while drinking it. it has a high creamy head and pale orange tone to it, moderate haze but nothing gnarly, and a good amount of visible carbonation still. it smells piney and fresh, robustly hoppy with some bitterness evident too, minimal on the grain side, light crystal maybe, some pale wheat perhaps too for fluffiness, and a dry cereal complexion to it. the flavor is the same, pine forward hops, very northwestern to me despite it being made in maine, not sure of the hops but it could be a simcoe and columbus sort of thing, it has that woodsy dankness about it, but then also a lighter herbal layer in the taste which comes out more as it warms, lemongrass maybe, and super clean in the finish and on the fermentation overall, quick and lively, just enough grain balance, really tasty and drinkable beer here, better than almost anything else i have had from the trader joes range of obscure brands. i would definitely buy this again, and will look out for other farm island flavors. i wish i got a bunch more of these instead of the lousy boatswain stuff. way ahead of expectations!

Picked up a sixer of this from a formally unknown brewer in Maine at Trader Joe's in Centerville, VA. I think the sixer was $7.99, which is quite reasonable. Surprisingly attractive with a cloudy ocher body and rocky, die-hard head. Nose is standard but solid: citrus, tropical fruits, light biscuit.

Flavor is a little understated but brings the herbal and medicinal hop flavors and a pleasing finish. Texture is a little unsteady and muddles into watery at times, but overall, this is passable IPA for a value price. Has its place.

12oz can with a 'best by' date onnit

Looks great - chunky, minimal head, hazed-up to the max. Smell is light malt lemon. Tastes like dirt... and I'm not just saying that, very earthy flavor here, not bad, just different. Floral hops dominate here. Very bitter

A little better than just okay
