A: Pours a moderately clear dark golden yellow in color with light amounts of active visible carbonation slowing rising from the bottom of the glass and some amber highlights. The beer has a finger tall creamy dense foamy head that slowly reduces to a thick film covering the entire surface of the beer with a slightly thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of banana with lighter aromas of clove and wheat

T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of wheat followed by stronger flavors of banana and light flavors of clove.

M: On the lighter side of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Relatively smooth.

O: Stronger in bananas than other beers in the style but still a good representation of the style. Easy to drink and refreshing, pairs excellently with some sausages off the grill. Definitely one to get again.

Poured from a 500mL bottle into a Unibroue tulip.

Slightly cloudy orange/brown liquid with an active off-white head that dissipates quickly to a fragile but lasting collar. Thin lacing, poor retention

Banana and allspice in the nose - heavier on the phenols as the fruit takes a back-seat.

Cocoa-dusted plantains on the palate with a hint of vanilla and coconut. Distinctive yeast character is offset by the clean malty base and a brief but moderate bitterness. Medium-finish is dried out by the perception of further peppercorn and clove notes.

Prickly yet flaccid mouth-feel.

A good, quietly unique variation on the standard weizen.

A: Dark yellow. Small head that fades quickly.

S: Wheaty and pungent.

T: Starts off wheaty and ends with a chocolaty aftertaste. Very smooth. Great balance. There's another flavor in there that I can't put my finger on. It almost tastes like bananas.

M: Not too much carbonation. Very smooth. Light on the tongue.

O: I'm a big fan of wheat beer and this is one of the better ones I've had. Very good balance and brings something different to the table. I liked it a lot.

Appearance: Creamy straw color. Misty yeasty infusion coming to the bottom of the glass. Always a pleasure. Creamy head

Smell: Bananas mixed with an earthy tone. Rich and sweet Good representation.

Taste: Fruity banana mix up front with an assertion at the end of the sip.

Mouthfeel: Good mouthfeel with a back bone. Full rich and a good stout feel that goes down your throat not just to the end of your tongue.

Overall: Pretty good. MW is a bit of a belly button beer but for good reason. A nice summer sipper but I would take this on a raw German night any time. A good one and a memorable beer for a reason.

Orange in colour. Bananas dominating. Sweet, but nicely balanced. Not too much carbonated, medium body. Prototypical Hefeweizen.
