500ml bottle poured into a Maisel's Weisse weizen glass.

Cloudy dark brown hue, it tops with massive rocky off-white head that stands with great retention, it slowly subsides to one finger layer of eternal foamy crown and leaves plenty of lacing patch on the glass-side.

Fruity ester in kind of citrus and banana firstly picks by a nose then bubble gum, phenolic spice reminding of clove, as well as biscuity malt sweetness.

Fruity ester still kicks in first with a touch of bolder banana comparing to the aroma as well as citrus, bubble gum, dark bread, and sweet biscuity malt trying to cut in thereafter as well as some clove spiciness to bring in the balance.

Medium body with smooth mouthfeel and some crisp carbonation generated some softness through the palate, finish is dry.

Pretty decent Weizen with generous amount of good malty and yeasty profiles.

Not a fan of wheat beer but this one impressed. I think I need to leave the USA every once in a while in order to experience beer produced by folks that have done it for millennium.

this is way way underrated here on BA, as good as their regular hefe, and similarly, this is a pretty quintessential example of the style, they have absolutely nailed this one, and i am so glad this beer is showing up around colorado a little bit now. on tap at the new german place downtown, its a less cloudy version of the style, just a little haze instead of being downright cloudy. it has a tall tan head, thick as shaving cream, and smells like toasted bananas from the dark malt and german ale yeast together. everything is perfectly balanced and dialed in here, the yeast is florful but not dominating the grain, which has a nutty sweetness to it, really pleasant. lighter in body but still with a little creaminess to it, hyper carbonated, and insanely drinkable. i could drink boot after boot of this one. i have been getting more and more into german styles lately, and i have appreciated both maisels beers ive had so far very very much. really high quality and authentic beer. i havent seen bottles yet, hopefully those come around soon! this is awesome beer.

Dark brown with a medium head that doesn't retain well. Full nose of caramel, cloves and overripe banana. These flavours continue in the taste, but coffee and lemon zest are also present here. The malts seem to be roasted or have at least gone through a very long heat drying process, as the taste has quite some stout characteristics. The coffee flavour and dry finish are quite dominant here. A nice twist, though it does get a bit bland after a while (with a 0.5 ltr glass that is). Mouth feel is still Weizen though: smooth as always.
