500ml bottle, 0.2% ABV. How does a bottle of non-alcoholic beer have near 500 calories of 'nutrition'? Oh riiight - flavour.

This beer pours a hazy medium golden apricot hue, with three fingers of very tight, melted marshmallow foamy head, which leaves a few broad swaths of thick painted lace around the glass as it lazily recedes.

It smells of very bready, cereal graininess, with a subtle leafy, earthy hoppiness. The taste is big breakfast cereal malt, all sugar, all grain, all the time, and very little in the way of understated noble hops.

The carbonation is fairly sedate, though not really all that relevant, the body medium light in weight, and more or less smooth throughout the whole affair. It finishes off-dry, the barley sweetness still doing well in absence of its stolid alcohol friend, and fluffy hop interloper. It finishes sweet, malty and very much redolent of an average breakfast cereal.

Pretty tasty, for a low-alcohol offering - all the hefeweizen goodness, with the added bonus of a lessening in the yeast and typical fruitiness. Kind of like drinking a tasty, natural soda pop - lots of sugar and inherent flavour, but with no other sexy sideshow attributes.

500ml bottle poured into tulip 24/3/15

A murky dark orange, big three finger foam has great retention slowly ending up as a pencil top eraser island, lots of random lace deep down the glass, looks like a hefe all right

S a little clove and banana chips, lots of dry grains, a hint of bubblegum, not far off the style minus the booze

T lots of cereals, not the yeast you would expect from a hefe a little sweet but I`m guessing the lack of yeast isn't turning those sugars to booze

M medium bodied but rather foamy, a little spice lingers

O I`m not in love but its decent for alcohol free, nothing offensive and has some hefe qualities

I can`t have alcohol at the moment and this might quench my thirst every now and then until I can have a real beer, better then expected

Poured a huge, dense, dark cream colored head sat a half inch above the top of the glass. The head faded slowly into the hazy dark apricot beer. Smells of sweet malt juice and a hint of fresh dough. Light wheat flavors and a hint of citrus are quickly overpowered by a sweet malt flavor. It's missing that fluffy soft Hefeweizen mouthfeel too. It looks like a Hefeweizen, but that's the only positive thing I can say about this beer.
